Ive had a problem with a fusable link at the starter on my pickup before, but that was the exciter and caused the alternater not to charge. Everthing ive come across with a draw ended up being a stuck diode in the alternator. :33:(Or, of corse, aftermarket stereo problems.)

Now you've got me wondering. Short in the starter might drain the battery through that wire. But on second thought, it would drain through the positive battery cable too

Yeah I never had to diagnose mine, the starter started sounding sick about the time the battery started draining. It got so bad that it wouldn't even start with a jump. It was a no-brainer to just replace the starter in my case.

If anyone out there needs an excuse to get a van, i got it. Family time. Weve gone camping almost every weekend since we got the thing. I work 50-60 hrs a week so weekend projects are few and far between. I spend allot of weekend time in my recliner watching tv, until we got the van. Weekend projects do suffer even more, but now my recliner is a camp chair(or sometimes a tube:cool:), on the river, watching my kids play in nature. No tv, no phone service:D. Summer fun the way God intended it! I took tomorro off so i can get a good site.:waytogo: Go vannin! Everybodys doin it, hah! Er camping at least. Heres ya some pictures from the trip before last. :smokin:Forgot to take any last time.

My favorite shot of the river and one of the owls that hung out with us that time.

We're still building up vacation time after burning it all over Christmas and needing it for other trips this year. Next year, we're back to camping the way I did before I met my wife.

I grew up camping and camped alot as a young adult but when i moved to the property im on now(18 years ago) it had no house so i lived in a tent for the first summer and an rv for that winter. I havnt really camped much since. I guess the van brought back memories if my youth, traveling, and it brought me back to camping. :D
