Can anyone tell me what the paint code is on this '86? (For some insane reason, the PO scraped the SPID off the glovebox.)
I've always called it Forestry Service Green. But I'm pretty sure this wasn't a Forestry Service truck, so I'm not really sure what green it is?
I'd like to have a couple spray cans mixed up to do some touch-up. So I'm assuming they'll ask for a code.
Thanks

It might be tough without the SPID if it is a special equipment color.

You could contact the GM Heritage Center and ask for the original invoice.

Any grease pencil markings on the firewall? Sometimes they will scribble the paint code along with some other options.

I always called that color "State Park Green". The US Forest Service green was lighter and more of a mint color.
I know I've seen darker green (like mine) trucks with Forestry Service logos on the doors. But maybe that was the current owners taking liberties having added the logo?
Or maybe the Forestry Service went to the mint (what an awesome color!) in the late-late 80s?
Either way, I'm just calling it that. I'm certainly open to the idea it's not an official Forestry Service color.

Wow, Keith. Good call!
Went out and found this.
And did a bit of googling and found the 1986 paint codes.
Looks like 46 it is! (Although it looks waay darker on that swatch.)
Thanks

My K20 Suburban was a USFS vehicle and has, although hidden now with flat tan Krylon, USFS green paint. The invoice I received from GM Heritage only says "F44AA 010 Special Paint-Single Color".

I think the paint code is this: Federal Standard 595, color chip No. 14260

In my travels, throughout the country, I have seen various State Forest vehicles with a darker green paint.

USFS started with the light green in the early 70's

Since the Wyoming green is about as close as I see to the OP.
I'm going with.

I would think the standard public offering swatch page for 1986 is not going to cut it.

such would have been on the original bid sheet for that vehicle when the government entity bid for it. (...so maybe they called it "hunter green" or similar)

and then ...whatever gmc/chevy/ford/dodge would offer to match the requested color and be accepted. (...and also the same paint request for bigger trucks/ cars/ equipment).

as an example: I would not think crown vics / dodge diplomats/ chevy caprices actually came in NYS police dark blue.....but were made to order in the requested color.
...and then when NYS police wanted some 88-90 era camaros: they just took them in the blue metallic that was offered to the public,...vs. making chevy do something for more cost for the few that they were going to order.

in the end with such antiques and matching paints. ...a pic of where the sun has not beaten,...taken to a custom paint mixing shop is what may happen.
...and I was talking to a autobody guy last week that had to try 3x to get matched paint for a ~ 2018 dodge challenger,...as the custom mixes just kept coming out weird. (nothing particularly special, ...just charcoal grey metallic)
