Put the LS Fab tail light fill kit on today. I'm not super happy with it an it won't "close" all the way. Gonna have to give them a call tomorrow. There are other spots to put the spring so I'm thinking i need to move it some.

I can hold it an it stays where it should but as soon as you let it go it pops back open like that
link or info? Looks like the hinge area needs to come back/rotate from the last pic.

Would love to have that on mine.

The bs with the alternator continues. I hate this bastard! It's even farther off now with the bottom bracket and spacer. The top bracket is got from summit was not even close to fitting. So I'm gonna go back and make it work with the other bracket because it closer.

I’ve seen you posting about this but honestly can’t help decipher the issue or visualize why it’s off. But if you’re using OE brackets, is it possible that is the wrong alternator or has a different depth pulley?
Only saying that because both my 77 and 86 have a more old school looking alternator with the metal fins. Just a suggestion.

New cheapo bed cover, $205.99, from Amazonia. Roll up with velcro. Old cover had snaps, which were a pain.
EZ-COVER 8' Soft Roll Up Truck bed cover
Doesn't cover the stake holes in top of bedrail, but I added rubber sheeting to cover those 6 holes.
Looks great!
But what’s the issue with it reason for covering the exposed portion of the stake pockets? I feel like most of all similar style tonneau covers I’ve had had on a myriad of different trucks have left a portion of the stake pockets uncovered. Never been an issue. If you’re thinking rain/water intrusion I suppose that happens but never enough to matter.

I've seen a couple guys on FB complaining about the fit of the tail light once they got that fill kit installed, hopefully yours is an easy fix. I haven't seen anyone post what their fix was, only the complaint of it sticking out a bit when closed

They have it available for the dr side as well. I actually have that one on hand as well. originally were doing this on the dr side. The tank just fit better with his exhaust routing with the fill neck facing pass side.

I was keeping it to do a 25 gal blazer tank in my truck but I dont think it's going to fit with the panhard bar an its bracketry an stuff so I probably going to sell it.

I'd ditch the saddle tanks for something totally cool like that in a heartbeat. I want to see it again when you get it dialed in.
Thats what drove this, it also got a sniper2 so needed the efi tank an 60 psi. I talked him into this instead of keeping the dual tanks. Hopefully it works out lol.

The "bucket" portion of it is a tight fit, all up into the sides of the stake pocket. There's really no adjustment an the outside holes on it pinch the old tail light flange between the bucket an the hinge. So if theres no adjustment in the hinge (which I didn't see besides the spring mounting holes) idk how you can move it any, short of cutting more out.

Pulled off the front of the Mistress today. Going to sell everything. Started fitting up the serpentine set up. Going to have to get a new alternator, power steering pump, and A/C compressor. Also need a new water pump pulley also. The one I have is to big.

Haven't done any work yet raining all day here but did pick up a new trans brake solenoid a couple 40amp switches and an MSD 135amp 4x electronic relay and some 8- and 10-gauge wire to tidy some stuff up while I'm in there. The plan is to ground switch both the solenoid and 2 step box off the top button on the shifter, and line lock off the bottom button on the shifter that leaves one slot open on the relay to run something later if need be. Then the two switches to prevent accidentally activating anything by interrupting the activation signals from the shifter buttons to the relay.

I just picked it up monday so i've been letting my 17 year old drive it to find any quirks in it

She's so far said
it pulls to the right
the stereo sucks
the blinker doesn't auto cancel when you use the left

But she's also said its a 40 yr old truck and she loves it.

Some rain water (or snow) in the stake pockets ain’t going to be what takes out your truck bed.
