Just got back from the machine shop, the heads are good to go. Not a quality issue in site per the shop, they’re actually built very well. So I guess with that said, I give my tip of my hat to Brodix.

Now, I’m coming to terms the fact that I actually have to take a perfectly good running truck apart. Kinda gave me pause today, but it’s something I’ll get over very quickly as soon as I start ordering lots of really cool parts. Hope y’all are doing great.
I have now finally decided. Chad, I think your rig is best looking with your rally's. Beautiful truck, as always dude.

I'll try swapping the pinned wires around.
When I bought mine, I had a 4.5 amp draw on it, battery died overnight. Pulled all fuses, no change. Pulled the alt connector out - draw went to zero. Compared it to a replacement connector and wires were reversed. Hmmmm...It was obvious the connector - wires were recently worked on. PO wired the new alt connector wrong and once I reversed the two wires the draw was zero, battery stays charged, no more electrical issues and no more worries. Got lucky.

Was obviously one of those things the PO should have mentioned on purchase. Took it home and next morning DAADN...dead as a door nail.

Well 99.9% of the time when I do maintenance service or do some fixin on the Suburban, it all works as planned. However this time it seems as though I used too much brute force removing the heater hoses from the heater core and it is now leaking. I had replaced the leaky OEM core about 20 years ago and it worked fine until I broke it the other day. I ordered a new core that should be here early next week so I can go to fixin on it. So this is a "what I'm gonna do to my Square futurely" post...
I used to use the brute force method until I discovered the hose removal pick-hook

Had I used my noggin just a teeny tiny little bit, I should have cut them off, since I was installing new hoses anyway.

Currently looking for a decent used hose pick tool...

Another way if they are stuck slit the hoses lengthwise at the heater core, then peel the hose open. Always make your hoses a little long that way if you have to slit the end,you just shorten them an inch.

You can use a small pocket knife or pen knife under the edge of the hose too, if you can get that tool in the space. Picks or hooks or small straight blade screwdrivers (I have a couple I also use for popping wiring harness plugs loose) also work well.

Well, it's a Square in it's bones. Dad's ole 55 6100. I'm getting some free time & have received marching orders from the ladies (wife & daughter) to get it running so that we can use it for Christmas decorations again.

Make one out of a cheap junk straight screwdriver. Bend the end over 180* I bent mine about like this,I took a buffing wheel to the end first to knock off all the sharp edges. Dont remember if I heated it first It was many years ago,use a cheap skinny screwdriver. I had a Snap On one but lost it so I just copied it. The funny thing is I found the one I had in the first place.

I don't believe I've ever seen a grill like that. Certainly most '55 have a different grill. Is it because it's a one ton?

I just googled it and it says Chevy had both the old body style and the new one the same year... and a 6100 truck is a two ton. Whoa!
