Inspecting the old pump you can see where the antifreeze was seeping out of the weep hole, and I also felt a little play in the bearings.
Looking at the front of teh block you can tell this pump has been on here a very long time....
Yeah man, looks like timing cover has never been pulled so this motor should be all factory inside.Looking at the block, you can tell its been in there for a long time too. Probably the OEM pump as is the OEM block.
Take advantage of the opportunity while you have it to clean off the timing tab and paint it for future use.
Yes, that is something I failed to do.Usually the tab isn't a big problem. Certainly a great time to clean the tab for eaiser reading. But to paint the line on the balancer is what you want to paint. I usually use something like white out or even a flourescent nail polish if one of your ladies has any laying around.
Yes, that is something I failed to do.
That will be a good one for the quote thread, lol.NO biggie, if the time ever comes you can't see it, you can lay on your back and do it from underneath.
Comparing the new pump to the old one. Notice that the studs for the fan are not included with the new pump and have to be switched over.
Oh **** !!! At least I wasn't talking about myself. Sure glad I didn't add the part, I had to do that 1 time. That will be a good one for the quote thread, lol.
