She's coming along alright.

For the last two days Helen has been very happy! She's really running/driving/ and now even SHIFTING as desired. It's finally become a pleasure to operate.
I brought it home at the end of July and I've put about 3400 miles on it since then.

I bought a new MOOG center link which seems to be the only remaining piece of the front end that has yet to be recently rebuilt and / or replaced.

They wanted $114 @ O'Reilly's and I bought one off eBay that shipped from PUERTO RICO to my house in THREE DAYS for $66.

Yeah.

I scored a factory sun shade and associated stuff / things for the hatch so I can cover up my box . Ungh.
Coming soon from : AMERICAN CAMARO and FIREBIRD.

$85.

Brother Bryan got the $325 power steering pump / center link RnR job next week.

The tips look rad :imo: but the video does the sound NO JUSTICE because she sounds wicked AF now. A lot like a pointy-nosed LT-1 car, the cast aluminum tips really give it a "cackle" type of sound.
This is starting to become my dream come true except she has no radio but ima fix that!.
Gobs of BOMB stuff will occupy them spaces..

How about a 1993 ORION 225 HCCA pounding the crap out of one 10" XTR DVC woofer in a simple 1.0 cu.ft. SEALED box?
Yes, please.

Bomb-digggity! The head unit is off the hook too. I have other amps, but also other vehicles lol. A 225 HCCA will push the entire system, NP.

The deth metl t-top cometh.

$500 moar dollars into the Camaro next week...I've got an appointment at Dr.Dan's next week too. I plan on bribing him with CAT FOOD to get him to take my Blazer. It's gonna work. It has to!
(He feeds 8-9 stray cats around his shop.)
Maybe I can get the K5 fixed for the same $500?
He's gonna pull the trans so I can get it to Larry.

Working 7x12s worked out for my wallet alright but it turned out pretty ****** for the two bad guys I hunted for seven weeks -in a 40 acre RV lot- that WERE out on parole, but now they ARE back in prison...and that's how it goes..
**** I'm tired but that's how it goes..

Helen never made it to the shop last week. I was trying (in vain?) To buy a $10,000 AGREED VALUE policy for the IROC but Haggerty won't do it over the door dent. :( -Said they "want something more show quality".
o_O but I drive it EVERYDAY.
****.

Hoping the K5 gets back on the road soon because that policy is almost finished. Back to the drawing board! Gotta find a full coverage policy or quit driving it EVERY DAY! :Boo:stressing over it gets old AF.

I am very curious to learn how the axle is going..I may run up there after lunch.;)

I was running around 85 MPH with a spanky new 5.0 Mustang down the highway today wishing the new shocks were installed because that's just about as fast as I was willing to go. Awfully. fricking. floaty. at them speeds.
I ain't skeered but I gotta drive it tomorrow lol.:blah:

Sometimes :

The better part of valor is discretion

To die is to be a counterfeit, for he is but the counterfeit of
a man who hath not the life of a man; but to counterfeit dying,
when a man thereby liveth, is to be no counterfeit, but the true
and perfect image of life indeed. The better part of valor is
discretion, in the which better part I have sav'd my life.

Henry The Fourth, Part 1 Act 5, scene 4, 115–121

It looks cool AF but the ancient Midas? shocks suck dicks.. :(

5.0 wasn't havin any fun from this angle...no tellin how fast those things are now!

I was awestruck. Very amazed/happy/proud/excited that I could actually drive the car that fast now. Y'all don't understand the sh*t we've gone through! I was pedal to the meddle in top gear and Helen Camaro was only accelerating.
That's new. :(
(We're gettin warmer!)

No knocks, no stutters, no pinging no misfires, runnin like a top!
Yeehaaawww!!!

:party33: :patriot::rockit:

Hell, i've even got the T-tops to quit leakin! Gary Camaro and I were BOTH messin with it last week to a great effect.
Pretty silly . Brand new weatherseals around the entire car but not one is adjusted correctly..well, some are now but I bet the hatch still leaks and I KNOW the driver window does. Not real bad but it ain't real good neither!

The two old vehicles theory failed on me once too, and then I had to move to 3+ old vehicle theory. Have not been stranded with a fully not functional vehicle after that. But rear brakes not working considered as drivable by my standards.

The only reason my two old vehicle theory failed was because one was in the middle of ls swap. But I did do rentals few times when needing to drive 300+ miles back then

I believe the theory is sound and i've only owned both of my mine less than one year. I've only had the Blazer six months?
It didn't take long to determine
$240 < my paycheck (even +$68)
and since i'll work 42 hours in 3.5 days.. it seems like a fricking BARGAIN to not have to consider it one time in a week.

That will be a welcome change for a little bit but ...
Well....

I think that I may actually thrive and desire the "excitement" of daily driving a new 30 year old Chevrolet.

I have only begun to question - before this - even before the trans rebuild - "why do I demand and insist on doing this to myself ALL OF THE TIME?
Why can't I want a normal, regular, other car if only to ensure reason and sound thinking?

But I don't.
Won't have it.

I NEED THE CHAOS?

Think how much money WE could have!
Meh. Don't care...i'm sick.:baby:

I'm not the only guy reading this to have wondered the same thing.....
it is how I have began to imagine how I define OUR condition.

That must be the right word or term, whatever. Gonna have to work the steps over driving junk cars I reckon..
Y we no haz 12 step program?
.

It would go with my sticker.

Wait...

Wait...

$10 part plus an hour or two you will spend installing the line and bleeding the brakes anyway seem like a good way to save $240 + $70 for the stainless line. Then you wouldnt need to work the over time and could spend that time enjoying the car instead of going crazy - er in an econobox.

And he'd simply kick....my ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an I-Roc
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby

Why not just bend a new steel line from the parts store?

Don't want to.

I believe the lines in the mail will be better quality than I could create in my garage.
Even at half of $68 being 34 bucks..minus a trip to the store...doing it and letting it nag in my head for , ever?
Pass. Too much stress. 100% unnecessary.

Y'all will never, ever, EVER believe what happened at BUDGET car rental today..

I show up ten minutes late and there are eight people ahead of me in line.
It takes FOREVER to get to teh counter and NOW i'm almost an hour late!

She asks me what kind of car I wanted to rent , a truck?
":nono: the cheapest thing available. The guy on the phone said 4 cylinder sedan is Volkswagen Jetta or equilivant".

She says! .....!!!

'Yes but there is a problem.
Your car is late we must switch for another.'

"Ok. Can I get a truck at that price?"
:nono:
'not that price but we have truck.'

I says i'm not paying more...

She's looking at the computer.

She's looking at me.

And says

'I can offer you a coupe but we have no four doors. Will Dodge Challenger be okay?'

Lol.

"Umm sure, I think. I'll make it work- thanks!" (At least 6 is > 4...) <3 RWD.
I am overcome with relief.

Cool. Beats the **** out of Jetta or equal! Glad I was standing.in.line.

She tells me where to go, gives me some papers and says 'the keys are in it.'

Huh.
Ooooookay? Off I go like a - puppet.

I get to the parking space and there must be a mistake.

I rented a 2019 Dodge Challenger RT with a HEMI in it and 47 miles on the clock.
No ****.

It's still got chalk marks on it!

All of a sudden this has become an absolutely fantastic way to spend $240.
$35 a day.

BUDGET>ENTERPRISE
final answer.

Wow! Didn't even know they rented stuff like that! I thought all the rental places just rented stripped down beaters.

My dad sent me a pic of a new Camaro SS convertible that he got as a rental a few months ago. He gets rentals for work like every week and had never gotten one of those before. Lol...
