I’m replacing vent window seals and window guides.
Also replacing interior door panels.
Does anyone have any opinions on Coverlay dash panel covers? This is a driver, not a restoration or a show vehicle.

My work had a car show for its employees last Saturday. It was a nice time, catered, 2 bounce houses for the kids, music, tents, chairs, they did it right. Maybe 12 cars entered, only 6 showed up. I didn't win, the lime Z06 and the service managers '62 Suburban tied for first and I don't know who was second, I wasn't in the money. The first place winners split $1000. I thought I was bad, some of these guys have some serious money tied up in their rides, 2 Z06's, ZL1 Camaro, GT350 Shelby, etc.

This was the trucks first real journey knocking down maybe 80 miles total. Ran ok right up until I got it home, parked it and went to move it later that day and found the fuel pump dead. second one in 800 miles, I need to fix the wiring to the pump to get 12 volts to it consistently, just have been too busy at work. 2 people noted the fact that a couple years ago, you couldn't give these trucks away, and it was true up to a point, a 4x4 shortbed Silverado pretty much aways had a buyer.

Another thing I did was add balancing beads to the tires as they have never been balanced since I mounted them, not quite sure they are the solution I am looking for. It feels like when on certain types of pavement, they go out of balance, other times smooth as silk, it was weird, again, another new challenge to address.

That’s cool your employer threw a show, more should have showed up as a sign of appreciation

They work and look fine at a glance, better than most stock dashes.

I've absolutely failed to get all four of my cab mount bolts in at the same time, it's a simple sounding thing that's absolutely put the brakes on this project so far.

Going to get some longer bolts today, the ones I have are so short they require the front to be sitting on the weight of the cab to be able to catch a thread. So I can't float, lift, scoot the front around to line the rear up.

No pics, but compliments of a lift at work and a helping tech the spacer for the front driveshaft is on ! I tried last night in the driveway - could not get the spacer to go where it is supposed to between the driveshaft and the t-case flange. The lift at work provides suspension droop which I think made all the difference is getting space.

Bonus was to drain the transmission fluid out of the t-case ( leaking from the transmission ... ) and put gear oil back in.

Shifts back out of 4WD on the pavement MUCH EASIER now.

EDIT- after the fact pics !

That slipshaft doesn't look like it has much travel? What size lift?

4 inch lift. I am kinda with you, but there was not enough engagement before and this spacer is only offered in this size.

It's aluminum so it could be machined easily if someone worked at a machine shop. Best option I have is a brake machine and that won't put the counterbore back in if enough gets machined off.

So, we are gonna find out how it does as is.

I'd be hesitant to run that. If it were mine I'd rather have not enough engagement than not enough travel.

If you bottom out the driveshaft only place for it to go is to shove it into the tcase or diff.

Is it full time 4wd? If not then I wouldn't really worry about not enough engagement, and just take it easy in 4wd. Until you can get the driveshaft lengthened or the spacer machined down.

Not trying to fear monger or say you're stupid, I just don't want to see you blow out the tcase or diff!

I ran my stock length front shaft on my 4 inch lift for about 7 years 50,000 miles, splines just barely stuck out of the slip tube. Non full time 4wd. Finally had to rebuild the splines and had it lengthened I think 1.5 inches.

You better at least go have a sit in it and have a few words with it. You know, spend a bit of alone time with it. Trucks have tendency to get jealous of wives and babies if you don't spend at least a little time with them.
Just sit in the seat, crack a cold beer and ponder - or converse as the gentleman says above ha
