lol. I may regret it when it comes time to replace!

It fits well, doesn’t extend past the bottom of the oil pan and is tucked away so no real concerns with clearances.
Well at least you can get a good grip on it!

Swapped out the driver fender. Lower no longer flapping in the wind. The AMD fender fits and lines up very nicely however they need to add the little tabs to their shims the little squares are a PITA. Hood is just laying on top to cover the engine now I have to fight the passenger side I can already tell it's going to be fun.

Had to fight with the bolt hidden in the core support said screw it and cut my way into it.

Once I pulled the old one off this is the amount of filler someone decided was just right.

Passenger fender full of trash front and rear as well as the other half of that can of Bondo.

The rear is rotting from the inside out from all the dirt and leaves rotting away in there.

I see Perry @idahovette is shocked by all this. Western rust ain't got sh!t on Ohio rust, lol.

My truck is from Washington never driven in the winter here, I couldn't find an Ohio truck that overall, was as nice as this one for a decent price and didn't have a cab full of Bondo and patch panels poorly installed.

From what I can tell I don't think the fenders were the originals from what I found (white and blue paint under the buckskin) I think it was hit in the front based on that the scrapes and bend in the original front bumper as well as the stock lower control arm looked like it had been driven up onto a rock or something on the driver side. Frame is fine but fenders appear to have been swapped out and poorly patched and painted before I got it. They are the only place I found any filler.

If driven year-round here, you'd be lucky if they survive 10-15 years before rotting to the point of no return especially newer unibody cars. This is why a lot of people here that own a car they care about like a classic or really nice newer car they also own a beater just for the winter. Not uncommon for a house with 2 drivers to own 3-5 cars/trucks.

That reinforces my relief at purchasing a CA truck. Surface rust is no biggie, but where the previous owners had sat on the roof, they cracked the seam up on the DS A-pillar, which did lead to a nice rot spot in the rocker panel on its top and inside where it ruint the park brake pedal assembly.

Not a perfect CA example, but would be gold in the rust belt for sure.

Defiantly anything with a solid cab minus maybe a bit of floor pan work where the door seals can leak is gold here, everything else can be unbolted and replaced. Square body trucks that go for anything under $5000 here are just parts and that's usually just due to the driveline unless you get very lucky. I've seen where they are starting to make the door opening sections of the cabs now that include the A and B pillars also full rear cab walls, defiantly more aftermarket support than what they used to have as far as the cabs go.

The last one I had a 77 short bed was a black cab, primer grey front clip, red bed, green doors, and a brown tailgate because it was a solid cab and chassis pieced together with what I could find that wasn't rusted out. It was an even more stripped down street/strip truck with a 400HP 383, Manual TH400 and a posi 4:11 12 bolt. Back when I was being a Holligan on the street dusting people with the junk yard special. :happy175:

For $100 here you could have put the part in the cab behind the seat or maybe in the bed and left the trailer at home. :laughing1:
