Doing the front and rear diff fluid swap on the suburban and it reminded me of a post I had on my CUCV asking about the rear differential. Now that I’m looking at an actual G80 govloc in person, I’m not sure what was in my CUCV prior to the locker swap. Here’s a picture of the g80 in my Burb’s 14sf:

And here is whatever the heck was in my CUCV’s 14ff:

Clutch type locking diff. Usually require some friction modifier in the oil. When they wear, they just don't lock any more. Good thing, is they won't governbomb!
That’s what it looks like, just not sure of the brand. It’s sitting in a box on a shelf. I’ll see if I can see some sort of marking on it.

I'm shocked, stunned, and amazed that no one came and got any of the rare, expensive, valuable, hard to find, necessary, totally saveable things that were tying up my trailer, but I dropped the original bed, donor frame, original 350 and some other odds and ends off today.

Not only did I get 420 bucks, but now I can use my biggest trailer again

I don't think I'll make this style anyway, was just simplest to start with, but, factory was lower case.

Damn, I never realized they were lower case.

There was probably someone working at the scrap yard that was very happy to pick through that stuff, lol.

Went directly from my trailer into the truck headed for the steel yard. Happened to arrive at pick up time.

Especially that block they are basically extinct around here on the used market they pop up from time to time on marketplace but otherwise it's either remanned short blocks or new stuff thru summit like blueprint etc. or aftermarket stuff like Dart. Closest machine shop is like an hour away all the locals shut down. I bought the last of the GM stuff from the last one here when he closed back in 2021.

Still have one 2 bolt 350 stock bore and a late 80s 302.

Does look like a Grizzly like @bucket said. Made by Yukon, or at least sold by them. Yukon Dura Grip. YDGGM14T-3-30-1
$1200! That’s more than the Detroit locker that I swapped in its place. Tbh, I never noticed the previous diff on the street, but every time I’d spin the rears on a slippery surface it’d spin them both. Probably better for a street/snow/fire road type truck than a Detroit if smooth operation is desired.

Maybe if the 14sf g80 in the burb ever self destructs, I’ll look for a 14ff to rebuild and use this grizzly.
