I need to build me a big azz walk up platform for my old friend like that.
@Powerhouse Ranch Very nice! I've got a box that serves that purpose, but it's not all the way up to the bumper. May be time to modify it with a couple 2x4's underneath.

I normally just lay some wheels and tires down in front of the truck. I pick different wheels for different heights as needed and when I'm done, I just roll them away lol.

Nothing too big, but we took the dually to a local show yesterday afternoon, and was the only square there! Even with it being dirty and rough, had quite a few folks stop and talk, and quite a few pictures were taken of it! Now I'm really revved up to get more work done on it!

I discovered that free headers don't always fit. New ones are coming in a few days, but I won't reinstall the old exhaust for 3-5 business days. Put the plugs back in and moved the truck back to its spot, as my car gets to live in the shop when hail might happen (truck is parked beside a row of lilacs and tall pines, so no worry about hail for it, and I need a new window anyway.

I'm trying to get a few last things done so we can drive to the Outwest Truck Fest (south central Alberta at Pioneer Acres) as it happens only 30 minutes south of my house and we plan to drive out for it - not putting the C20 in the show but hope to talk to a few others and some vendors. I haven't been to a car/truck show for at least 14 years since we moved back to my old hometown.

I had a couple brittle adjusters on the burb when I put in the new lights. I ordered this ten pack that seemed to get good reviews.

Fortunately I have a 1/4NF28 tap to precut the threads.

It worked well, but I’m not sure what I may’ve done wrong. All the adjusters I’ve purchased before were dormans with the screw already threaded into the plastic.

They look poorly designed. I think the clips need installed to the core support before threading in the adjuster screw. That might give enough support to keep them from popping.

I do that too. Tired of stepping back wrong and going azz over tea kettle. Getting sloppy in retirement, lol. I'll show you guys my garbage ramp for the hardbody so you can get a chuckle soon.

Found a view from the prototype test session. Use the hand truck to move levels and from the top landing it's only 8 inches to the gate. Tip the hand truck back, roll the flap over the edge, slide can off hand truck. Duplicate to the top level, move hand truck and lift property for the last bit. Way easier to lift up from the top than ground level. This is my reality after open heart surgery and the hernia from days past. That day was the day I got rid of a smattering of wheels and tires, all destined for the recycling center. I found a place that did all the dismounts for a group rate and I actually made enough for a foo foo coffee after expenses. My time and fuel was a donation, but it kept mama happy getting rid of a bunch of crap from the drive. So, win win fellas. +1 for the R&D brain cells, ha ha.

Any serious work platform will be more stable than what I've cobbled together for trash duty here. But it does work if you pay attention to balance. It is two separate platforms that are not lashed together. Somewhere I made a phone video for mom, but something like that won't load here and eff putting on YouTube. Use your imagination and don't forget the Benny Hill soundtrack for effect.

Here's a picture to keep with the theme of the thread. Ole Pearl has assumed the position.

I started putting a few of my goodies I got from the junkyard the other day on my truck.

Got the bonus cab emblems on. Had to drill out the mounting holes a bit as they were a bit high on my truck. One of them is also bent I tried to bend it back but no luck and you can’t be to rough with the pot metal their made out of so I put some rubber behind it and put it on the truck.

I also put the fold flat seat in. Weirdly enough the mounting holes don’t set quite right. My truck is an 85 and the seat came out of an 87, not sure why it’s like this. I’ll probably cut off those tabs and then weld them back on to fix it. I just find it weird that I need to. The truck was the same as mine as well, (454, TH400 4x4)… anyone know if there was any change in the body between 85 and 87?

I’m also working on swapping the oil pan that I got off that truck my 454 block (3999289) is a 70’s era so its got the smaller oil pan but I’ve been having issues with the oil dipstick, mostly due to excess blowby issues but also mounting issues due to the headers and heads that I have (3872702) the oil dipstick was not seating into the pan fully and the tab has been broken off and rewelded atleast twice. So I’m hopping this new pan and dipstick will help somewhat with my oil leak.

The auveco green adjuster are what I used and they've lasted for over 7 years in the north.

Every other one I've tried has either broken upon assembly or adjustment, or VERY soon after installation.

Yeah, they do have a helluva dish to them, haha.

Just got back from a ‘round town cruise. Stopped at the lake for a spell, great way to celebrate my 52nd birthday.

Changed the oil. This has been in the plans for a long time. I actually bought the oil and filter way back when some of you may remember I somehow managed to let the oil get so low it had the OP gauge going haywire.

I finally got the oil back were it needed to be and decided I am going to change it. For whatever reason I read about others experience with thicker oils than what my truck ran and ended up putting in 10W30 along with what 5W30 was left, oh and some high mileage stabilizer. This is the reason I wanted to change it in the first place so I could fill it back up with some fresh high mileage 5W30.

Then I started having problems with the throttle body( was studdering under load, initially thought this was a fuel issue). Rebuilt TBI, now new Delco TPS, and tuned properly, wife and kids out of town...decided to finally change the oil.

I actually enjoyed it even though it was 98 degrees today here. Afterwards I took if for a spin on back roads, to the highway for cruising speeds, back through town, and home again. Truck is running good. The new oil smells great.

No pics this time, I just wanted to GETERDUNN! Lol.

Finished stereo stand/cup holder console(crude but inconspicuously flat black)
Straighten the crooked body trim on the passenger side from a hurried install after paint job.
New air cleaner, a little rerouting the CPV, a little clean up.
