Put these mud flaps on that I’ve had kicking around. Got brackets from the junkyard recently and thought I’d see how they looked. They are net required where I live and I don’t drive this truck on the highway. So they would mostly just be for protecting the paint on the truck.

But I’m rather concerned about how close they are to the wheels. Even with the anti-sail brackets they just look to close. What do you guys think?

The depth of those rear wheels makes em look killer.
Yeah, they do have a helluva dish to them, haha.

Just got back from a ‘round town cruise. Stopped at the lake for a spell, great way to celebrate my 52nd birthday.

Did you achieve long hauler status?

Of course! The wagon is the definition of cool reliability and awesomeness

...You know I had to say that since you think it's ugly, lol.

I drove up and parked the 84 in a car show I'm not a member of. Lmfao!

We usually have a local car show at the dairyland eaten place. Kinda like a sonic. It's usually just people who have a old car or truck they're working on or have finished. Not this time. Lol

Do I parked it and walked around because I got there early. There was probably 10 or 15 cars there. I bought a coke and kinda walked around. I started to notice that more and more cars were coming in. Then I saw a sign that said 65th year. That's when I realized it was a car club. Lol

Then I heard a guy say this street is going to be packed. I was going to be trapped in there for a couple of hours. So I just pulled out of there slowly and drove home. Lol

Here's some pics I took before I realized it.

I've been to hundreds of club-hosted, local car shows. Never once has it been a show for club members only.

here’s the latest of my many projects, a retro speaker setup. My sound system was 100% stock along with the rest of the truck. But i found this really nice set of retro “kicker” boxes by Kraco in a pawnshop. I got a $6 set of Metra wiring adapters so i unplugged the 4x10 speakers behind the seat and plugged them directly in. Tremendous increase in sound level and fidelity. Plus they look appropriate and “retro” period correct.

Haven't done much, just been driving it a lot. I haven't even washed it since last summer. Still looks decent enough....

Got the wiring 99.9% complete and got the truck running for the first time since early last year. Got a list of kinks that need to be ironed out but very happy with the progress that's upon us.

I finally finished the rally wheels I picked up a few weeks ago.
I found it impossible to find the original rally wheel paint most suggest up here in Canada. Some also advised that Krylon Dull aluminum was a good match. Also not available north of the 49th.
Krylon sells a metallic Aluminum in Canada which may be the same thing so I decided to give it a try. Turned out ok, hopefully it lasts.

Working on laying in the new vinyl floor. You can see it on the ground by the ATV, Would have had it done yesterday but local weather temps dropped dramatically and it's not pliable enough to work with.

Nice paint scheme was thinking of doing the panel down the side of mine without the trim but in the inverse, so I'd have the black hood and side panel on my buckskin truck.
