Our 79 Burb never had AC...the compressor was MIA when we got it in 1989. Even though it was a Silverado trim truck, had crank door windows but power tailgate window. We'd put that about half down, crank the door glass all the way down, hope we didn't get into too much traffic and keep a cooler in the back so everyone had a hydrating beverage..... Dad made cup holders for the second row seat out of PVC pipe, steel tubing and wire mesh in the bottom, bolted em to the B pillars inside. Worked pretty well....Like the 3 days a year it’s not hot enough to need AC in Houston? Lol
Idk how y’all do it.
Basically we'd do most of this with the '99 Burb in the summer, since its AC is non functioning. You learn coping strategies when you are too broke to have the only vehicle in a shop, and can't fix it yourself.
