The one the boys put in is a smaller one if not the smallest. No idea what the cost was didn't look a gift horse in the mouth. It cools my main shop easily at 1000 square feet.
Been on my list. Saw a split unit at HD on-line between 5-$600 AC/heat wow. I figure I have 600 Sq ft.
Just for what it's worth

Rich people that pay people to sell them a rebuilt truck. It is crazy. I could NOT buy a scrap truck in dfw.
Me and wife went down to Corpus Christi for a weekend, and we went through a town I counted 7 squares purchasable, + a restored, + a 60's, + 3 ford's that didn't count. Hmmm
Ya and more I think about it, compared to here where you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a rust free square, it makes less than no sense. But $ vs resourcefulness in other parts of the country could create a decent market for these expensive pieces.
But to that point, I can find a rust free (fill in the blank vehicle) in the Midwest for not alot more $ than here. But I’m not in the pay stupid $ for something that is 10% better than the same thing for 3x less $.

Yeah, same here. That's another reason we're are this forum. Real people's loving to fix stuff themselves. Just saying there is always a market.
That town I went through made me think that's were I could find a project for myself, or make some cash here in dfw. Meh, realistically I'm not gonna flip something. Glad I don't have acres like my big brother, LOL.
Sure loved going through a small town and seeing guys with squares.

Some cheap sound and thermal insulation for the 83 thinking it will help keep some of the heat out of the cab from the big block just need to get a fresh rubber floor also got some cheap 5% ceramic tint trying to keep some of the 90+ heat out of the truck

Wanted to get it together this weekend but didn't quite get it there. Pressure washed the frame in the engine area, came out pretty nice for a driver this old. Installed new engine mounts.

Looked over the wiring harness and decided to just swap it out, too many previous repairs and rodent damage. I fortunately had parted several '87 and '88 pickups and Suburbans and had a much better one. Also went thru the bin and found better battery cables.

I had ordered new pre bent transmission cooler lines to clean that mess up.

And finally, with nothing in the way, installing the ORD steering brace was easy

Couple more minor things and I am ready to drop it in. I checked my posts and realized it's been down since late May, damn

Ordered a set of stock front springs so out comes the 2-inch drop springs. I think she sits a wee bit too low in the front my jack just squeaks under the cross member and would not fit if a tire was flat.

Not really something I did to my truck, although big things are coming soon (Dakota Digital), but I thought I'd share this t-shirt I made of my square using ChatGPT. My truck has the Heartbeat of America license plate on the front, so I had to incorporate it into the design. I'm happy with how it turned out! I made some for my daughters also.

Cheap and ceramic tint dont go together but, I have it on my camaro and it's worth the money. It does a much better job than regular tint.

First time messing with tint so I got a cheap roll in case I mess it up
I used to own a tint shop. Be sure to mix dish soap with water in a spray bottle so you can move it around to get it in the right place while you squegee the water out. It takes some practice but you'll get it.
