So what if I buy smog heads for truck that doesn't have smog canister and run them with no smog canister. What will happen?

Ford has 2 types of replacements heads for the FE engines, smog and no smog but the smog heads are $35 cheaper.

For the difference of just $35 I would get the non-smog but that's just me.

Smog canister? You mean the fuel-evap canister?

Yeah Dave, didn't you just get a $500.00 cordless impact? And your unsure about a $35 difference?

That's just a charcoal canister that traps fuel vapors and then returns them to the intake system. I can't imagine how a set of heads could be made just for that.

Smog heads probably have provisions for smog pump ports or some **** like that but honestly Dave you're at the wrong forum to be asking about f*rd trucks lol. I would venture to guess they might not make as good power either.

I just using my Ford as example but I'm sure the older chevy trucks have the same options for cylinderheads also.

Fuel evap systems don't need special heads.

Air injection systems require different exhaust manifolds.

Post the links where you got the price difference for smog & non-smog heads.
