I got a set of cross bucks from the 50s. They haven't really changed much over the years. I hung them up in my shop today. Hung up a couple of mini surf boards I got on our last cruise.

Was sent these the other day from a 90 plus year old man that retired from the state of Louisiana.

Will talk to him to make sure I have the story correct but:

When the Baton Rouge arsenal swapped from flintlocks, to percussion muskets they had hundred of French flints for the old flintlocks, and seems the just went outside and poured them on the ground (rough guessing, late 1840s-1850s)

In the late 1970s or early 80s, the were doing some work around the old arsenal building, and the “trash pile” of flints was found.

I don't have any vintage auto related stuff outside of some old tools that belonged to my grandfather and great grandfather I have vintage guitar stuff.

77 Morley Wah boost, 80s Boss compressor/sustainer, 80s Big Muff. Early Cliff burton/Metallica Kill em all sound. (why some people get it wrong and say he used a Wah fuzz I'll never know)

I don't use these anymore as I have modern versions of them on my current pedal board.

Used to have an old 70s Rickenbacker bass and 80s Ampeg 4x12 tube amp setup but sold them to a collector/active vintage metal player. Just too big bulky and expensive for me to just fiddle with.
Nothin special but i have a fender squire strat. Ive owned it since about 2006 or 7.... I was pretty fresh outta high school and a guy at my job at the time told me hed teach me to play. Needless to say i watched him play it and never learned. (Just like dad said i would, i wasted my money). I gave it to my step son some years ago as he was learning to play from a friend and was doing better then i ever could but since he passed i got it back. I originally bought it from the small local music store as a package that came with the guitar, amp and all the start up lil pieces. Since getting it back again ive thought about actually learning finally.

When to the big city again and hit up a different antique store, not near as good as the last one.

Did find this though, not into fords, but stuff this old and model T stuff deserves respect.

Supposed to be an ignition coil, made of wood of course lol

Weren't they mounted below the dashboard? And there was more than one because they failed often?

Model T’s used a coil for each plug, ran by a flywheel magneto, with a front mounted “timer” or commutator to fire each coil.

Coil near plug in 1911.

Stepfather (and others in the family) were GM / Fisher Body / Delphi employees.

I've got the same keytag! It was my grandfather's and he gave it to me in the early 90's sometime. He retired from the Columbus Ohio Fisher Body plant.

Lots of my family worked there too. My stepfather went back to GM (from Fisher Body / Delphi Columbus) at the Mansfield Ohio (Ontario) plant before he retired. He said they were taking machines out of there that were 4 stories tall for shipment to China. All those facilities are gone now :(
I've got another around about a door frame milestone, but can't find the pic.

The Columbus plant has been gone for at least 10 years now. Probably longer, but I've put it out of my mind. The place was always magical to me. Imho, it and the people within helped build modern America. It just looked so magnificent. They had a giant front lawn out on US 40 that was always well kept. They used to have a show every late summer out on the lawn that showed off the products from every division. '93 I think was the last year for that, due to the start of the Columbus Auto Show in '94. Grandpa and dad (sometimes just Grandpa) took me to the show every year. Those are still some of my best memories from childhood. Grandpa started there in '48 iirc. My good friend's father retired from there too.

It's a focking casino there now. Thankfully I rarely ever have any reason to drive into that area anymore. It's such a depressing sight.
