Well I received my louvers from Willpak Industries for $83.96 landed at my doorstep. Quality looked good, rigid, light weight, trimmed well. Came in standard black but I painted them white to match my truck. They installed in minutes with the included velcro and it feels nice and solid. A trip down the freeway and they stayed in place so I think all is good.
My main objective was to keep some of this desert sun out of my cab. I had the seat reupholstered in the original GM vinyl from SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon, which was a little spendy but turned out great so i don't want the sun to burn it up again. It was 106 degrees here today.
It certainly cuts down the rear window sun beating in. A huge difference. Of course it gives up a bit in the visibility through the rear view mirror but not so bad you can't live with it. I mostly use my side mirrors anyway. It's not as bad as the shot through the windshield makes it look.
Another bonus, it completely cuts out the overhead lights bleeding into the cab at night.
So they are very functional and solved my problem but tell me what you think....OK retro look or totally gay? Give it to me straight....I can take it :D

I think they belong on a 73-80 as opposed to an 81-87, fits the 70's style better I think. With that said I am considering getting one for my 79 when I get it back together since it is a non A/C truck and I plan on road tripping to places like the grand canyon, places that are not typically cold.

Especially on your truck they fit nicely and look good. And without a doubt it serves a very functional purpose. Nice truck!

Or a louvered headache rack.

Seen plenty of iroc's with back window lovers, but a headache rack would be a first.Hahaha

Personally, I like it. I think it’s a cool retro look. To me, running boards on a Blazer or standard cab look dumb, and I don’t like huge tripod towing mirrors, but any other accessories that might be called “grandpa” are a win in my book.

That price is saw-weet too, hard to resist.
Actual GM louvers for a third gen f-body are 5-6 times that much IF you can find them!!! and they are the only ones that I would consider...

Thanks for the tag. I will seriously consider this for the Ox. :D

Definitely gay! However, I like it. I'm in the desert too and know exactly what you mean. Now... about that skateboard ramp of a roll bar.

Not my cup of tea. But it certainly looks nice. As far as the purpose your going for... I think you nailed it. It will definitely protect the interior from the back window. Aside from that, you have a sweet looking rig and it all goes together.
