I doubt it's that bad. Rods can be checked and resized,crank can be ground,very unlikely pistons got damaged.Labor was $3200 and parts was $2600 ($5800 all in for a complete long block).
Looks like now it will be more. If I have to replace all bearings due to metal contamination, piston potential replacement, rods, and maybe crank.
$5800?
A used engine that is in good shape could not be more than $500 or so. No?
Maybe $400 labor to swap it, no?
I found a crate gm vortec 8100 local that I can snag for $3800 but I bet it will be a pain in the ass to swap. I have the sniper setup for this motor, Afr heads, etc.
