It's true guys. Let's not muddy up a good thread. I'll move this stuff out in a few minutes to the Rep Trial thread for conversation. I did mention you have to give 10 reps before you can give the same member rep again. I dropped it from 25 default to 10. I also said I'd consider dropping it down to 5 since it seems it's the same players posting up all the good info, noone responded or commented about that so I left it. The purpose of that setting is just to keep a circle of say 2 or 3 people just tapping each others rep credit thru the roof. It's been said, rep system is not perfect. So am I hearing drop it to 5? I believe that is the lowest setting I can take it. BTW, I gave Rep on this one, and another one of Retro's a couple nights ago. Fairly certian, he has most rep credit so far than anyone if anyone wanted to know.

5 does sound good.

I agree to know who your key players are, but I wouldn't say the rest of us shouldn't be trusted for advice. I'm sure there's others out there that know things. I know a guy who can hardly change a damn tire, but when it comes to building and tuning a carb, you won't find anyone better. And, we can all learn from other's mistakes or their experiences too.

Example, Frankentruck's filler hose dilema. I don't think anyone else here realized there was a difference in filler neck sizes from 81 down and 82 up. Some may have known the tanks were different, but not known why. Now we know, and we all know. Point is, just cuz some are more knowledgable than others, doesn't mean you can't trust info from the rest of us.

When someone chimes in with an issue, I think its best for everyone to chime in with their personal experiences...no problem is ever routine.

OK, onto something that matters in this thread.

I just noticed something about a rep comment and wanted to figure it out. So for anyone else who might wonder, just wanted to explain.

The green of course is a good rep point. The Red will be a negative. Remember, we want to pretend Negatives don't exist and not give negative rep. We just want to give pats on the backs or Kudos for great advice, help on the forum, or a good addition to the forum. Today I noticed I had a Blue. And a few others of you will also have a Blue if you look in your UserCP. The Blue is given by a member who does NOT YET count in the reputation system. This is because a User must have 25 posts that count, and have a Rep Score of at least 10 before his reps given count on anyone's score. This person gets rep credit for his posts, and his time on the forum, along with Reps given to him, so to hit 10 is not all that hard to do. Once that member meets the criteria of 25 posts and Rep score of 10, then you will get your score credit for his Rep given to you, and the Blue dot should turn Green.

Why is it that any post even REMOTELY negative about you gets deleted, you understand its all in good fun right? I am not intentionally trying to be a dick. A good 30% of the ******** I type on here gets deleted.
