Today I picked up and installed my re-ulphostered seat. Not perfect but a darn sight better as there is no big ole burn hole anymore! Also replaced the glove box plastic as the hinge finally gave out.

With this done my list of Squarebody projects is done! Time to drive and enjoy and take to Cruise In’s and maybe a show.

I really like the steering wheel. I have the same little console and drink holder. It's even the same color. They are a nice piece.

Even after heat, PB Blaster soaking and whacking the pitman arm with a BFH, still wouldn’t come off with a regular parts store puller. The arms flexed and then the threads stripped. I had to step up to a more stout Lisle puller and then it came right off. Junk tools suck.

I bought one of these an it's been the best money I've spent on a tool in a while. Works great, I didn't even need a breaker bar an it stopped out a parts store puller like your first one an didn't even budge....

Power steering lines are in. Turns out “guaranteed to fit” doesn’t mean s*it. I had to completely re-bend the high pressure hose to keep the belt from directly rubbing on the hose, even though the pump is in the stock location- completely clocked up toward the fan. Don’t know how that wouldn’t rub on just about any application.

That’s what I should’ve seen coming and ordered it. 40 years on a tapered fit plus 180 ft lbs of torque on that nut… there’s no tool in the world made out of pot metal that would’ve stood up to that.

I was sick of my floor mat moving around over my cheap rubber diamond plate floors, so I glued it down

Looks like I posted this to the wrong thread, I posted it in what tools I got lately.
I added a stainless steel filler panel between the bumper and the back of my Burb. The old plastic piece was warped and looked like crap. I do not have a before pic but it is basically a replica of the plastic piece made out of 14 gauge brushed SS. I added close foam weather stripping between the body and the SS to help eliminate vibration noise or scratching.

Looks good! I've got a plain steel one to put on my shortbed too, just need to paint it

Looks like I posted this one to the wrong thread as well, I posted it in what tools I got lately.
a couple years ago I upholstered and added fully electric seats from a Yukon (with integrated seat belts). The Yukon console was crap so I added a Chrysler mini van console at the time. I wanted to fully fill the space with something better so I just finished installing a bench seat with upper and lower consoles from a newer Silverado. I didn't have enough of the seat fabric so I just upholstered the top to blend it in.
Not sure If I posted this little add-on before or not. I remove the strap door pulls (always hated those) and bent some 1'' aluminum flat bar to make new solid door pulls. I brushed it to look like the insert and coated with several coats of clear to keep the black residue (oxcide) from getting on my hands when used. They also make great arm rest while driving with the window down. The original chrome end caps fit perfectly as well.
Next I think I will find a shop with CNC machine that can make me the lower door arm rest pads out of aluminum. I have always hated the the vinyl padded ones. If I had wood grain inserts I would probably make my own wood ones.

Here's an update to anyone that was interested in my previous post about the cupholders and door speakers

Finished up the power steering today, and put a timing mark cover on the harmonic balancer. Fired it up to bleed the system and played some Hot For Teacher through the exhaust for the neighbors.

PO cut a hole on the hump and then put a piece of rubber over it so I fixed it right with a wire feed metal patch. Making some progress on the rest of the floor, hopefully soon I will be to put the doors back on.

Been driving the beast. The CRV, cowering in fear behind, has an alternator issue all of a sudden.

finished my seat. Hope to be riding in style soon.
