Didn't expect this. Old painted bumper removing paint with citristrip with saran wrap over it. I've only ever tried 24 hrs then repeat.

Put it on and wrapped sunday. Had the grandkids for a few days so didn't touch it until today. Absolute butter removal.

I got time at that rate. AC remover is better from what I've read, but they say the metal retains the smell for days. Wife would b|tch about it tho lol.

@bucket going clean and smooth on the front and let the rear bumper be the wear and tear look lol. Thx again.

So was there chrome under there or had it been removed?

No chrome at all. I think that brown/maroon stuff was a primer of some sort. Instead of scraping, I think I'll set up the pressure washer to make it faster.

Since clearing my code 42, I have driven it twice with no check engine light, or issues however I am anticipating it again eventually.

I finally got my ignition control module, which was a first impulse purchase after seeing code 42 and researching what is involved. I also got my MAP sensor connector, not related to the code 42(that I know of). I do need a new connector as my current one is zipp tied to stay fastened. The tab broke off sometime when myself and the shop were troubleshooting my previous rough idle/stumbling etc..

ICM is NOS from 1995, Made in USA. I think this may be the 2nd ever AC Delco part that was made in USA I have managed to land. Still thinking about ordering the AC Delco connectors for the ICM but want to take a better look at them when the cap is off to install new ICM.

The MAP connector is newer, made in Taiwan but looks great. Plenty of wire to splice in with. I saw a video where a guy just pushed the electrical posts out of thw old housing and pushed in to a new connector housing. That looks super easy, but I probably need to splice it in and get the new wires in the system.

Is there a shipping date in the box? I ask because that copyright date of 1995 is just for that box design, which lasted until a few years ago.

I used to use steel wool to remove the residue, once the vast majority of the paint was removed. By brushing paint remover on the left-over areas and scrub with the steel wool then rinse off or use a damp rag.

Nope, nothing in the box but the module and the conducting lube. And, I threw the invoice out already.

Fitted a Red top. Replaced quad shocks. New polished aluminum 4 row Radiator from Summit.
New regulator in the tailgate and new glass wiper seals there as well. I cheated n bypassed the open closed relay for the tailgate motor.
Ordered a ton of other parts from LMC. Seat rail carpet inner front fenders. Will post pics soon. Love being back in the Square

If you have them empty (or seriously close) and use a floor jack to slow re-entry, it's not as bad as you might think. I did it in the gravel carport with the jack on plywood so it would roll.

It's nice having that third hand holding it up while you go after the sending unit wiring and hoses (except I would just cut them because now is a great time to replace them anyway). Don't let the fill tube give you fits either, just manhandle it.

You've got this.

I was going to say the same thing.. I kept pushing my tank dropping off as well for as long as I could, then once I did it I was like.. c'mon, really? Why didnt I do this months ago? Easy.
And yeah, floor jack "helper" for the win. Same for when you go to reinstall - set it back on the jack and let it do the "heavy lifting" in place. :D

Put in the new IAC, as well as cleaned up the TBI and put in new injectors, what a difference!

After that I threw it up on stands, pulled the headliner as it was just disintegrating and crap flew around inside anytime I drove it:D

Then I drained the coolant, replaced the thermostat and the upper radiator hose. Need to do some cleaning before I put a new lower hose in, that will be at some point this week, along with an oil change.
Was it hunting for idle? Our does sometimes and I thought about taking out and cleaning; reset.
