Agree with you, one exception- your spreading the load of the truck over 24 rivets for just the rear (light end) of the truck, as much as I wouldn’t think it move on just the cab, I would bet an engineer at GM would say it’s only meant to support the body structure where as the frame crossmember on the front is grade 8 bolts and hard mounted to the frame - no rivets. It’ll likely be fine, but would I personally recommend or do it, nafc
I see your point. But at the same time, the cab spreads some amount of load to the other frame mounts, including the radiator support (assuming the front clip is installed).
