Got minded that changing an in-line canister filter under the vehicle, regardless of how quickly you make that swap on the inlet side, while the tank is full of fuel, you're getting soaked in fuel. Just the shirt shoulder area and back, but nothing that a change of shirt could't fix...lol...
Did it look like this one I replaced on the frame rail? I never knew it was there until I saw it whilst inspecting stuff underneath, and I have owned this Sub since 1994. This one was probably installed during assembly in 1985, and yes, I took a gasoline hand/arm/shoulder bath during the process a couple weeks ago...

Got the serpentine belt components installed and did a test run. All seems well.

Installation wasn’t a real big deal. The biggest issue I had was entirely my doing: I pressed on the new power steering pump pulley backwards. Of course that made removal a challenge as there was no provision for the tool to remove a backwards pulley, lol. I modified a steering wheel puller and with a bit of heat was able to get it off.

They did send the wrong belt (belt was for engine with air conditioning) but measured and got a suitable belt from Oreilly’s.

Probably where the rifle rack was at...

@bucket

The rifle rack is behind the driver's seat. I had actually stumbled on an M1009 for sale last night on Marketplace and it was VERY clean and completed - had the same bracket with a fuel jug mounted to it.

well I am gonna bite the bullet and order up a redhead steering box. input shaft seals are squirting oil pretty good so Not gonna mess with trying to seal it up since I am sure its probably the original box or a cheap replacement.

Started the weekend getting the mill scale off - leftovers from lasering, cleaning off residual tight spot rust it couldn’t reach, good weekend!
