Replaced the steering gear with a Borgeson unit to improve my steering. Had to enlist help to get the new gear box installed as I couldn’t hold that heavy thing steady with 1 arm as I tried to fish a bolt in from the other side. But with a little help it went pretty easy once that first bolt was started.

Test drive was great…..until the engine started running a bit rough like it had a bad miss. Got home and looked for something I may have knocked loose and sure enough I had knocked #3 plug wire off during my work, as it runs right by the steering shaft I was manipulating. Seems I knocked the plug wire loose with all my work and it dropped off during the drive. All is well now!

Installed the tailgate finally after plastidip the hinges to reduce the slop and rattles. Probably took 50 dips. The over sprayed rubber hardware cleaned up well with citristrip. I still have to griswold the tailgate trim band before installing. I also will need some white touch up before I install chrome trim separating the two tone.

where the tail gate hinges, mine were rusted....that's half the reason I put new bedsides in. Other half was because of the rust that builds behind the chrome over the wheel....the stuff u don't see until it's too late. No more chrome on my sh|t. It's perty....but damn it all lol.

Got the rear bumper off. Had the truck backed up to a retaining wall for ease of muscle bar bolt breaking. I put bolts in the other 2 holes in case it decided to drop. Had I looked closer....it wasnt going anywhere with all bolts out lol.

I had to smack it a few times to get it to let loose due to rust-welded together lol. B|tch is off....replacement going on tomorrow after some grinding.

License plate between rear sliding window seal and painters tape to glass until then.

Started installing my dual exhaust system. It includes long-tube headers, custom bent pipes, a Flowtech H-pipe kit, and two Cherry Bomb glass packs because I never left my teen years maturity-wise. I'm still piecing and building it as a DIY (and built-it-myself) system, but this is the stuff I enjoy doing on my days off. Otherwise, I'd get rid of my shop and tools.

No cracks. I had stripped that area to inspect (found nothing) and had just sprayed it black. Reflections.

Replacing headliner material which I purchased new on eBay which received with wrinkles. I tried hot iron over a towel, and also a steamer, both methods didn’t work. Last resort, laying it out on the patio under a glass sheet on a 90 + degree sunny day, which I am not very confident this will work either.

Anyone else solve this wrinkle riddle?

I’m hoping to not toss in garbage and purchase again.

I ordered mine from Fabric Empire (60" x 96") and came nicely rolled around a cardboard tube and wrapped, no wrinkles. 5 stars if they would ever send me a survey. Got enough to do it one more time.
