Unfortunately the speed sensor is in the speedometer and needs the cable connected to get a reading off the spinner. I can pull apart the gauge and remove a gear to keep the clocker from adding miles, just a pain in the ass to take apart and put back together. I have done it though.

Here in middle NC its a visual inspection but thanks to employment with Uncle Sam, I retain residency in TN where there is no emissions or inspection (at least not in the County I call home) plus two of my vehicles have permanent plates so no registration or anything

I can only drive it one day a week registered as an antique.

Last year I was under 5K so it was exempt. I am right on the line with that. Regardless, it still needs a visual inspection for the parts.

No inspections here. There was talk of it in Franklin county about 10 years ago, so I moved to another county.

ya well you have lawyer to thank for emission standards in PA i took the test and the rules and regulations are so messed up

unless u live in carbon county and any other county that doesnt have emissions we all have the same problem and it only gets worse the newer ur vehicle

My truck is supject to saftey and visual checks (mirrors and lights) my daily driver is the same but has to be plugged in to a computer... since I moved 1 county over I don't have to have emissions tested but they check my exhaust for illegal mods (no cats straight pipe)
