I'm looking for a 2.5 and 3in diameter ball hitch. Would consider a pivital hitch setup also that would work with standard ball hitch.

I never heard of it called "pivital". I have heard them called "pintle".

I have a few extra ball mounts laying around. Don't think I have a 3" ball though, just 2 1/2 or 2".

That is a hell of a weight rating you looking for. Is it for a dump truck or something?

Its for a 3 axle trailer made out of a mobile home frame which is steel Ibeams. I measured the hole and I need a 2 3/8 ball.

I'm confused. If you are looking for the pintle/loop thing, what is the ball for? What are you going to pull the trailer with?

why not just buy the pintle hitch receiver or change the loop hitch on the trailer to a ball hitch

Well its setup for a ball right now but might change it to pintle style later on. So need ball for 2/3/8 ball hitch now and pintle hitch setup for later. If I cant find 2 3/8 ball then I'll switch over now. Gonna pull it with a pickup truck.

Are you sure it doesn't take the common 2 5/16 ball? If you're just going to pull it with a pickup, you don't need the 25K rating.

the 2 5/16 ball hitches that i have found are rated at 25k but isnt that over kill unless you have a vehicle bigger than pickup to pull a trailer capable of 25k

It might very well be a 2 5/16 ball. I'll have to look into it. I know about 25K rating. Thats probably the max weight of trailer when fully loaded but havent really tested it yet.

WTF, PO is towing a 25,000lb GVW trailer with a ****** Nissan? You shouldn't be towing that with your truck, and I shouldn't be towing it with my box van either. That's a Medium Duty vehicle requirement at minumum. And it is a 2 5/16 ball needed for that. No such thing as a 2 3/8 that I've ever seen. 1 7/8, 2in, 2 5/16 is all I know of, or at least the most common.
