Had a buddy that drove like that and never figured how he could do that. That's gotta be weird. I actually tried it once and I don't have the right feel in my left leg and would push the break petal too hard making for jerky stop. Never tried again. Lol
I left foot brake as well, it gives better reaction and allows for quick corrections coming in to the corner. Developed the habit for left foot braking running autox in the trans am

My old stepdad drove left foot -right foot, worked ok till he forgot which was which. Getting old ain't fun! LOL

My other two cars are manual and I left foot brake when I can in those. It's like a go-kart.

There was a karting place near where I used to live you could rent time in some serious karts on an indoor track. I kind of miss it. So my left foot is tuned for braking or clutch work.

Left foot braking doesn't make sense to me in the truck, much to slow and loose for that.

It's a more advanced driving technique. Critical for off-roading an auto. Critical for drifting. It's nice in 'tight' situations to cover your brake without
letting off the gas. You can get your left foot to the brake quicker than the right, once you get used to it. No, it doesn't bugger ya when you switch to
a standard...
I would urge you to continue to practice this when you can, and when it's safe...

And besides, how else do you do the brake torque smoke show? :burnout:

I'm with 82shortbread. If I'm just driving normal, my left foot is just along for the ride. Way more comfortable. But yeah, it's often required to use both feet for offroading, race car driving, tire smoking, or other tomfoolery. Or if you're driving a POS that doesn't keep an idle while in gear.

I'm with 82shortbread. If I'm just driving normal, my left foot is just along for the ride. Way more comfortable. But yeah, it's often required to use both feet for offroading, race car driving, tire smoking, or other tomfoolery. Or if you're driving a POS that doesn't keep an idle while in gear.

My coworker had to kind of learn left foot brake after asking to borrow which ever random pos truck I had at the time. Almost none of them would idle in gear. Or maybe some of those times was me asking for help on moving the pos truck

I'm the same way. Left foot brake, right foot gas. I've done so much racing and wheeling it's 2nd nature to me now. If I try and use my right foot to brake I put myself through the windshield, lol. When I drive stick I can stop fine with my right foot. It's weird.

Yeah, race driving and dd are two diff styles. I'll dd with the right until I'm ready to power break it.

I've had to do this a few times on cars that wouldn't idle. Not too difficult.

It's the freeway left-foot brakers that drive in the left lane and hit the b-lights every 100 yards WHEN NO ONE IS IN FRONT OF THEM OR TO THEIR RIGHT!!! AND THEY'RE DOING 5 MPH BELOW THE LIMIT!!!
