Hey guys. So i have been thinking about going back with 15's on the 82. I have a set but one is in bad shape. It has rust and pitting where the tire bead seats. It's all around on both sides. I tried to clean a little but curious on how I need to continue. Anyone have any experience with this?

This is what I have going on

Rally wheels are so cheap, I think I would replace the one or two badly pitted wheels, the one pictured would probably leak.

A little time with a good wire wheel in a drill would smooth that out. Or a flap wheel in a grinder, just need to be a little more careful. Looks like there's more buildup than there is pitting. Once it feels smooth (but probably still some pitting) it will be ready for some bead sealer and a tire.

Yeah there's cancer all the way around and on both sides. I'm just going to find another wheel so I won't have any issues in the future.

I may consider a pair of those 15x10s. Not sure what backspacing I need to clear with my drop. I have a flip kit and 2" drop shackles. I believe the 20x9 camaro wheels + 1.75" adapters I have on now, is around 5" and they clear just fine. Any ideas?

Well after pricing those 15x10s, they are a little out of my budget for the moment. So I just ended up repairing the 2 wheels I started on to begin with. They turned out pretty good I think. I used a high build epoxy primer and sealer primer. Test mounted the tires for 3 days and they didn't leak at all. I then used a base coat, and clear coat over the entire wheel. I'm happy with them. 2 down, 2 to go.

I just found a set of 15x8s I'm going to put them back to work with a set of 32x11.5s, I like the rallys.

Does anyone know if I will need the standard or the 2" valve stems to go through the beauty ring?

I just realized i never posted a follow up pic but posted one on another thread. They turned out nice. I ended up putting some 295/55 Mickey Thompson ET streets on the back. Clear with no issues.

Ill eventually go with the 10" rally. Im getting things together to have a 25x30 metal building built. So play money is on hold right now. But after thats done ill be starting on the body work and maybe by next year ill have a nice pickup.
