Back in the day, Dad had a '78 Sierra C15 long bed, with the factory wagon wheels. Had em painted Colonial Yellow like the rest of the truck, ran Goodyear GT Radials, white outline letters, LR60/15. Those wheels are also 15x8, tires fit nice and lowered the truck at least 4", made it easier for teenage me to climb in and out of the bed. The tire stuck out just enough to get my toe on, to hop up....
We had the truck rallys on an '84 Burb, on the back, with mudgrips on them. Prolly 31/10.50s....they were big,but would handle the weight we hauled in that truck. Needed a 3/4 ton Burb, but that came a few years later.

Depends on how you drive it most. If it’s a weekend toy, shorter trips and around town, that’s not the end of the world. I debated putting 4.10s in mine, other friends run 3.73s so I split the difference. A 27” tall tire wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it’s definitely gonna rev higher
It is 100000% a weekend fun toy, but I usually have to take highways to get anywhere I am going. I ended up going with 255/60/15, hopefully it isn't terrible. I also am planning on swapping gears at some point to either 3.90 or 3.73, just to give myself a little easier ride on the highway, plus my rear isn't posi.

Depending on how you dropped the front 5” you might have clearance issues with 15” stock wheels hit your lower control arms.
Its getting the belltech 5/7 drop. Unfortunately I'm not inclined enough to do it myself, so I have a local guy that works on my stuff. I know he thoroughly tests everything before giving it back, so if it has problems he will work it out, not just return it blindly. I guess we will cross that road if/when we come to it.

I dropped my truck 5 in the front and I was so hesitant on what tires I would run. After months of research and going back and fourth. I went with the 245 60 15 in the front and love the look. It gave me plenty of clearance. If you are running aftermarket lowering spindles then you have to grind lower control arm for it to clear and not hit the wheel on the rally 15x8 TRUST ME I leaned the hard way lol

What motor/trans is in it? I've put ~26k on mine with the 5.3/4L65/3.90 combo and a solid 60% of that has been highway at 80+

THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED!!! You just gave me so much relief to my anxiety lol. I am doing the 5/7 belltech drop, and I ended up going with 255/60/15 cooper cobras. I really hope I don't regret this entire move. LOL

I think 3.90 gears with the 4l60 and a tastefully built LS2 would be quite the nice cruiser.
Absolutely. That's essentially what I have, mine's an LH6 aluminum 5.3 from an Envoy Denali. GenIV block/rods, flat top pistons, 799/243 heads, TBSS intake/90MM TB. I put a BTR stage 4 truck cam in it with a 2800-3000 Circle D stall in the trans. We figure I'm roughly 425hp at the crank. About to pass 27k miles as of this morning, it's a fun setup for sure
