i know were the distributor is on a ford. and my family owns and daily drives fords. and i can tell you a ford front end with the twin I beams and king pins is easier to work on than it's chevy counterparts.

hell i would love if chevy stole one of fords idea like put the distributor up front save me some time trying to reach in to change the ignition control module.

That Ford dist is up front there for a reason, GM control modules last a lot longer. :evillol:

Jake...I'm pretty sure that 89 burbs rust no quicker than any other 80's/90's truck or suv...

I would rather have the distributor in the back when mudding. The fan throwing water/muck right on the distributor is a bad design for that application. And I have heard plenty of Ford owners complain about the durability of the TB front ends, give me a solid axle front any day over TB or IFS. Dont get me wrong, I dont entirely hate Ford, but my dad is a newer Ford owner and hates it for manufacturing flaws. I like the early '70s 4WD trucks the most. And Advance Adapters makes an adapter to put a Chevy engine in pretty much anything these days...:happy160:

My 93 E-350 Box Van has Twin I Beam, as did a few company trucks I've had. Its a strong set up, but I must say, its not the most comfy, on rough road, and it also had tendancy to bounce the front end pretty bad to where you don't even have control of the steering. There is one intersection here on S. OKC I used to hate crossing at 40mph in a Twin I beam truck. I'd almost prefer to get stuck at the light to cross it slowly. Finally after a few years, the intersection has been repaved and is much smoother now. TIB does have its issues.

We were kinda muddying up our Face with a Name thread. So here we go. Bad enough to muddy up a thread, which we don't mind a little, but talking Ford certainly isn't worthy of muddying up any thread, let alone one our Stickeys. Carry-On Ford Lovers.

I think he'd be a fool to waste that kind of money or think it was an investment.
