Hey guys. I have been thinking that my truck could probly stand to get a tune-up. Replace the plugs and wires etc. I was driving past O' Reilly's yesterday on my lunch break and they have Champion Platinum for $.99 cents or double platinum for $1.49 (after a mail in rebate of course:hmm:) Anyway, whose got em? Whose had em, who likes em and who hates em? I want a good deal, not a get what you pay for type situation. Thanks!

AC Delco Is what these ignition systems were designed with, better to stick with them.
I have Champions in my Magnum, and they work well, but then again, the system was designed using those plugs.
I know, it seems petty, but straying from OEM usually causes problems in driveability.

I was just reading that if you stick with what comes from the factory you will do good. Bosch are good for german cars. Autolite for Ferds, AC Delco for GM etc. Still not sure about wires though...

My first thought was that Champions would be fine, being that the "AC" in AC-Delco stands for Albert Champion, and the brand is currently owned by Federal-Mogul which is a brand I trust. But looking through several forums indicates there are some QA issues with the plugs being made in Mexico. One guy reported getting a whole box of Champions with no threads on them.

Plugs: AC Delco or Accell.

Wires: AC Delco or Napa Blue Max... I also like Accell here too.

One time I got 6, three were bad, took the three back, drove home, installed the three, two of those were bad, back to the store, back home, installed them two, one of those was bad, back to the store, got one, finally, I had a set of six operational champion plugs.
I havent bought another champion plug since.
Give Me AC, or Autolite, NGKs in the Harley though.

No, you are describing Bosch Platinums. Those absolutely SUCK in a GM, but the parts stores really push them. People say I am a hoarder and I can honestly agree with them, but even I threw out a set of brand spankin new Bosch Platinums once... even though I've saved used plugs of other brands.
