Happy Sunday!
Headers are a PITA, they are noisy, they leak and the thought of possibly end-wrenching the plugs out of that big-block. I like the OE look under the hood as well. My 2-bits

Just ordered a set of Flowtech long tube for a 62 C-10 truck ..

You must be registered for see images attach

They are not made to fit the 62 truck, made for later models (67-up)

The Oem crossmember has been removed, a four speed is going in ..

Which will require a new crossmember mounted further back in the frame ..

Big block long tube headers for a 68-74 Nova are the best fitting when it comes to square bodies, they point straight back vs most headers for a square that point weirdly on the driver side and makes making up an exhaust system a bit of a pain. They sit higher up in the frame rails and still clear the transmission including clutch linkage and won't drag on a lowered truck.

I have used, and currently use Hedman 69110 headers on my '78 K-10 BBC. These are for manual or automatic transmission equipped trucks.

OK, so something I have never thought about.....mainly cause I have no clue.....but my heads and cast exhaust manifolds had square ports. So does that now mean I can only use headers with square holes, or are the round ones able to work also ??

Like I've mentioned, I am a 2-stroke guy by nature and matching ports and surfaces with a little grinding and polishing, was paramount for added performance.....hence, why I ask, because I have never piped (headers) a 4-stroke before, LOL

Nope, round ports are fine. Just make sure the gaskets you choose are sized for good sealing. Which by the way, I much prefer the soft aluminum type. You'll never have issues with them.

Interesting did the trans require it to be mounted from underneath? Mine sits the other direction and on top of the lower lip of the frame.

Just realized your trans might be too wide to sit in between the two humps were as mine has a ton of room because Powerglide.

I'm dealing with a highly modified 75 GMC 1/2 ton short bed 4X4 that's been lifted 4" ..

I lower the trans 2" in the frame to help the driveshaft out ..

The reason for modifying the crossmember was because of how I married the 203NP transfer case to the 4L85E trans ...

This old truck has been pieced together like Frankly was ...
