700r4 pan looks fine. Was obviously cleaned out before but a while ago judging by the gasket. Don't have a problem selling it as working. Does it add any value to the car to have the correct transmission?

As far as the car having more value with the correct parts on it I would have to say yes. These lt1 cars came with a 4l60e out of the box so in all honesty looking at this car it would be a down grade for the 700r4. Now keep in mind I do value originality. If this was a built 700r4 ready for the track and the car was track ready as well then originality is kinda out the window as it was purpose built. Going in that direction it doesn't really matter what hodgepodge of parts made that track time lower now does it?
So to answer your question yes and no.

Keeping the 700r4 for now. Maybe will rebuild the 4l60e at a later time.

Fixed the immenent explosion from rear diff area. I think it even took less time than the so called repair someone else did on it. I also did not have the right adapter and being middle of the night just stuffed a bunch of bits to reduce the size. Worked surprisingly well.

it cost the same to build a 4l60 to hold power as a 700r4, so it only makes sense they blew up the 60 and got a deal on a 700 someone didnt want.. I could car about originality but it is worth more with a 60 than the 700 because I wouldnt have to mess around and figure out what someone else did.

Those are my thoughts, but for now it drives fine with 700, except I am having tire issues. 20+ year old spare for the win. And apparently 3 wheels can fit inside with a driver.

Tires hold air and even balanced now. Also charged up ac and it is working(only in defrost mode, but still working). TV cable is a bit hard to make right without buying anything, but it is working for now. Spedo still does not work, but I think it is because of a different type of a signal from older sensor vs hall effect sensor that 4l60e has.

Brake master took a dump the other day, put a used one sourced on eBay and back to braking. Also got the tv cable sorted. Daily driver at this point. Except random loss of power when cold at low rpm.(like a heavy miss fire of sort)

Since things seem to be running right, I'm curious as to how the 700r4 and lt1 play together.
