got a question, might not be the right spot to ask but here I go. the window channels on my 87 seem to be felt lined and rigid, not the rubber ones on the Brothers truck video. any ideas??
where is the best place to buy new window felts and channel liner?? I've heard that some make it difficult for the window to go up and down for awhile.Don't want to burn up a motor !!

Ha ha ha ha, one step forward, two steps back. I popped the crappy dash pad off to make it easier to get to the inner cavity under the dash, also made it easier to pull the dash gauge cluster out. Some bulbs were not working and the speedo was not indicating. I brought in a box of 194 bulbs to change all them out so I was starting fresh. Cluster came out easy enough for old brittle bull$#it and since it's up on stands, verified speedo cable spun. So far, all good. Gauges read proper ranges and both turn signal indicators work. Frigging awesome!

Until I turned on the headlights. WTF?
Pics or it didn't happen, right?

The turn indicators darken depending on which way yer signaling.

OK phuc, but it gets better (worse?)

Oil pressure and temp go crazy. I know it's a wiring deficiency but at a loss why. The terminals at the circuit plastic all are remarkably good for the age, the plug part looks good too.

I guess my question is, anyone seen this before? All is fine until the headlights come on, park or bright eyes. New switch on dash and dimmer on floor. It was fine until I started fuggin with it. My gut says that the cluster plug in somehow caught a tab on the plastic "circuit board" and is making a forbidden connection. Out of daylight and warm for today, so that's why I'm in here asking. Thanks for your thoughts. On edit - still no dash lights but the bulb for the heater pod works.

At least I got it all vacuumed out. Found 10 cents and some random fasteners under the seat along with some stink bugs so that's a win.

Didn't get pictures, but I installed my new rear shocks on my 85, and changed the front right wheel studs, since one started spinning when I removed the tire to install front shocks a few weeks back. I also put on a new set of lug nuts. Now they're all the same size. Had a couple different sizes before.

FINALLY found a racerback for this baby like it had before I bought it!! (Guy I bought it from asked if his nephew could keep the visor, and racerback--I said "yup, take them, I don't want them". However I then found the guy that build this dually in '82/'83 and I regretted letting those items go!)

So, now I have left to put on the truck is the running boards, which I do still have!

Do you not have dual wheels in the back?

Yes it is, the guy I bought it from installed them, and did an awesome job, such nice cuts in the racerback it looks factory. I left them as is for a different look, and it looks good.

It just looks like a single wheel to me... kinda funny lookin.
Part of the reason I bought it! Never have seen one like it before. It has a J.C. Whitney "dually kit" on it. This truck was originally a single rear tire. With this kit you put on your inner rim with long hex shaped standoff (female threads on one end, male on the other), then put on the big spacer, then outer rim.

Check out my build thread, I have pictures of that kit in there.

Cooler yet, I was invited to be on a podcast with it! Check it out if you'd like, this was a blast that day.
