Put the old girl up on stands and I have all three gears. Fu@#!$g excellent!

And a bearing noise in the differential. Ungh. Wheel bearing area sounds normal, using the prybar on ear method. Got late and chilly, will check fluid level and probably pull cover for a look tomorrow or soon after. Give it new goo if I don't catch any visual cues or something else obvious, play wise. Otherwise, more money more money, lol.

Received my new grill and hardware from AMD. Also ordered new baby blue door cards with arm rest from Classic. They all showed up! Was in talks with a fellow from this message board about buying a sniper EFI from him when the universe knew I was doing good. It decided to drop a pile of sh*t in my lap. $600 bill for my daughters kia and $1900 surgery for one of our pets. So efi is on hold while I try and build back up funds to secure it!

Universe knows when your excited about something and then sprinkles bills all over your parade

My truck is still on the books to enter the shop 1/26 to have the air system all redone and allow me some time down there to install all the stuff I’ve been collecting for years! Hoping to make it daily status so I can enjoy it finally

I have been to NCDMV every day this week with 6 trips but finally got my 79 registered. I'm enjoying my first sunset with it legal to drive.

sucks you had to make 6 trips. They should have told you exactly what you needed on the first trip. Went through it with 2 boats here in KY. Each took 2 visits and a waiting period for them to research the numbers etc.

got a question, might not be the right spot to ask but here I go. the window channels on my 87 seem to be felt lined and rigid, not the rubber ones on the Brothers truck video. any ideas??

Well, it took a quart of gear oil but the damage is done. Looks like a pinon bearing and seal is on the punchlist. Oh well, it was worth a try. Never done anything except brakes on a 14bff, but it looks relatively easy to do according to the data I have here. The hardest part will be fabricating the handle to hold the pinon yolk in place for the crush and nut torque. At least that's what I see.

I hope Murphy has that day off.

Got froggy this Sunday morning and rehooked all the vacuum lines the last tech took off. He said the old connectors were leaky so I used them as a guide along with the schematic and individually plumbed them.

I even had a vacuum check valve in my stash.:anitoof:

Weird, though- now that the EGR is hooked up again I notice some sort of smoke that spits out when I floor it at highway speeds. It was not doing that before with no EGR.

Once upon a time they would have been pliable, with age they generally turn into something closer to a rock. They also like to crack when they are old.

If you get new ones they should be nice and pliable, and felted where they contact the glass.

Ok moved things around in the garage now that holiday season is over and that stuff is put away. Decided to finish the Drivers door. Panel, arm rest, door crank, and all the appropriate felt window seals. I guess this is what I get for going with the cheapest door panels at the time. OER ordered them from Jeggs.

It was 70 in the garage. I wouldn't have tried this if it was freezing outside. Pissed, we'll I reached out to Jeggs and they asked for photo's we'll see if they honor the 1 year against defects. It wasn't even hard to install.
