It’s super easy and with the miles they be saggin a bit likely.
And it’ll handle better. Little stiffer less like a couch.

It handles surprisingly well, but it does need some love in the suspension department.

The adjusting bolts may or may not be adjusted the same amount and that is normal. Simply adjust both sides up the same about. So basically if one bolt is adjusted 3/16" farther out than the other one, run that bolt in until 3/16" of thread is still showing, then run the other bolt all the way in.

It varies from truck to truck, but that will get you about 1.5" gained in ride height.

The videos I've seen on the subject, it looked pretty straightforward, and they did adjust them equally, but I can see it being different depending on how they have worn-in all these years, or if they have been adjusted unequally.

Do what @bucket says but pleasure them with a little penetrating oil first!

Pfffft…. That thing is clean as a whistle from the left coast. It don’t need no penetration lube!

I always use Knock'r Loose, Kroil, or some other high quality penetrating oil when I work on the undercarriage of a vehicle. Never know what amount of rust has built-up in the fasteners.

Huge difference to the eye just by cranking the front back up to where it was or a smidge higher. The Durango was very noticeable.

Just been driving it. I did order a corvette servo to make the transmission shift better. It shipped today. Supposed to be a good return on investment.

Looked into getting a tune from Black Bear. Need to contact them to get more info.

Also looked into getting a rebuilt instrument cluster that has the trans temp gauge. Supposedly that is a plug-and-play and then trans temps can be monitored just like everything else.

Other than that, just enjoying the vehicle.

Make sure you let Black Bear know you have the 'vette servo. Firming up the shifts can be done that way or through the transmission tuning but if you do both, it can be wayyy too harsh and break stuff.

The trans temp added to the cluster is a great idea, it is plug and play. I grabbed an HD cluster that was known good from my buddies at a yard here in town after I added my big cooler. I still need to get this cluster reworked with new stepper motors/lights/etc but at least I can watch the trans temps now.

Thanks for the heads-up, I don't want to break stuff. I was telling my wife yesterday, after reading up on these 4l60e's, they are either really good, or easy to break, but very finicky, and can't handle high heat.

I think the cluster will be money well spent. Completely rebuilt, and comes with a lifetime warranty if I send in my OE unit. Not sure I want to send in the OE, but may do so. Although, you mentioning servicing the cluster if a stepper motor goes out, may be better than getting rid of the OE unit. Having a working cluster as a backup is not a bad thing.

Which cooler did you add? I still need to do some investigative work to see in mine has a cooler or not. If it doesn't, that is another purchase that pays dividends back in the form of not breaking the transmission due to overheating it.

I've only ever killed 1 4L60 and that was in my '05 I had in college. That truck had 3.42 gears and heavy 33" mud tires and I beat it mercilessly, it's a wonder it lasted to 162k miles lol. All my other trucks have been great, keep 'em cool and don't overload/tow too heavy and they're just fine. I actually much prefer a 60/65/70E over an 80E cuz they have less parasitic loss and better ratios.

I used a knockoff Tru Cook 40k trans cooler off Amazon. Everybody online is split 50/50 on whether they had issues or not with the knockoffs, I decided to take a chance. It's been fine for 6mo and 12k miles, no issues, very rarely even hits 175* even with a loose converter
