Some work.

Got the broken bolts out of the welded nuts in the side panels. I broke a couple, but the rest were broken before it was repainted as there was blue paint on the sheared part.

Soaked the new letters in brake fluid to remove the red from them.

The above was last Saturday, that morning I had went and looked at a K10 that wasn't far away. I didn't buy it. It was pretty rough (I knew this), but I had suspected, and was correct that it wasn't a 77 like the seller said it was. It was a 79 cab, but he had a vin plate and title for a 77. Loose, not even attached to the cab. Could have been a neat truck, 350/4speed/205. Tilt column floor shift too although he had absolutely annihilated it trying to get the lock cylinder out. Among other things. He wanted $1000, I was more at $600.

But, Sunday went to an estate sale with my mom and ended up buying some racking for $90, 4 uprights, 7 sets of beams, decking, and the cross braces. Got the lights for $20 for all 5 of them.

I also got this organizer during the bag sale portion of that estate sale, fill a grocery bag for $5. Turned out to be a good buy as it had some appropriate short screws for the new radiator and shroud for the 2000

I also made a laughable blunder, I changed the oil in the N the other night. I forgot to tighten the oil filter cap up and this happened.

Getting the side panels ready for sone paint. Worked the dents out of the one and cut and patched the rust on the other.

I think you stole those lights Spencer @legopnuematic

Ah the jigs up!

I was amazed no one snagged them, lots of people picked them up and looked at them. Atleast a few years back that style light were hot sellers. These are new ones, but still $40/each at Home Depot.

Used the spotwelder I picked up a while ago to reattach the inner piece.

The tins had a kind of cream/tan primer on them, I had a new quart of rustoleum sand (same color the center on my 76 is), so I sprayed them with that as a groundcoat, then the blue will be next. Thinned with acetone and I added some Van Sickle iso hardener into the mix.

I quite like the color, but I'll let them sit a couple days, scuff and then shoot blue.

Replaced the front axle pivot bushing and pin. Just a slight amount of wear.

Pulled the generator off to look through it as it would charge intermittently and erratically.

Not sure how this happened, but things had gotten really hot at some point and cooked the insulation off.

We were able to source a NOS field coil assembly for a reasonable sum.

Also picked up the brush hog from my coworker I bought my N from. It is a BMB 5 footer. This thing is stout and heavy. My N really could use some extra weight up front with it on the rear. Driving it up the trailer I was on two wheels.

Laid down pretty nice. I used one of my old Devilbiss JGA-502 siphon guns I have. I found out after I tore it down to clean the reason I never have fan control is a washer is missing. Still worked well enough. I like HVLP and HTE stuff, but some stuff I think the siphon gun just works better for.

New fuel tank installed, the old one was ok, but they use a poor design for a fuel shutoff valve, using an o ring with two screws, which have been reported to fail along with the valve itself being known to be leakers, as the new one was already doing. The new tank is meant for an NAA/Jubilee and the later stuff, so it has threaded plugs and two potential outlet locations. Replumbed and more sensible now and no leaks.
