It's not mine, but my friend was alerted a couple weeks ago this was going to be available, and cheap. He decided to jump on it.

It's a 1964 Ford 2000, the good, it is complete, has good rubber, has been kept inside for as long as the previous owners have had it, they used it with a finish mower. It is a 5 speed, so it has a live PTO, whereas a 4 speed would not be a live PTO. Already setup for 12v and the steering is pretty tight too. According to the tach it has 900hours on it. Not sure if that is accurate or not.

The bad is the hydraulic pump had locked up and broke the camshaft, which on one of these requires splitting the tractor to remove the cover plate and the gear that drives the hydraulic pump so slide the cam out.

The good about the bad, is the cam broke but the front timing gear survived, yet to be determined the condition of the pump drive gear and pump gear. Parts are quite available for these 134 4 cylinders (used on the jubilees to the 2000s) so sourcing what we need shouldn't be an issue.

Very nice! That's the newer variant of my 960. I believe less horsetorques too.

I think Ford called it a "proof meter" too, not a tach. Mine is missing... there's one for a JD just sitting in the hole, lol.

Correct on both accounts, this has the little 134 4 cylinder and proof meter is what it’s called.

Yesterday took it into town and washed it.

And got it pushed off the trailer into the unit where it will stay for a while before we tear into it. It’ll need to be split to remove the cam, and since the front axle is mounted with just a couple of bolts to the engine, I think the plan will be to remove the front axle and then remove the engine with the gantry and then put the engine on a stand to work on it.

Try messick’s for parts diagrams and OEM part numbers. They also have new old stock, but they are the most expensive place in the country to buy from.

So to remove the engine with two guys who have never split a tractor was 2.5 hrs to go from getting it rolled into the shop to engine hanging on the gantry.
