You can stash it all here,I'm already in trouble. No since both of us being in trouble!!! Lol
And I can always come to visit them too.

I hate it when bureaucrats poke their noses in personal business. I understand what they're doing and why they do it, but some of them take it way too far.

I don't understand why they do it and I won't give them a pass. I'm not going to get into all the double and triple taxation baloney and what the word "private" means in "private property," but when the government makes an appointed time to access your land for the purposes of taking more of your money, it is wrong.
It was wrong when the country was formed and it is wrong now.

The early hot-rodders called it a 301 before GM built the 302 for T/A homologation. I've seen vintage races where they had Tri-5 cars that were fender radiused, straight-axle & fender headers & those guys were banging gears at 8,000 rpm on those home brews. I'd love to strap in & holeshot that a few times.

I was meaning code enforcement not assessors. Assessment has nothing to do with your vehicles, so those should be invisible for the sake of assessing property.

It's more wrong when they gain access to appraise my land and use that to discover more. If the police have a warrant to search your property, but they find something other than the warrant, that is in admissible. Anyway that's how the cop shows show it.

No one really owns property. They pay tax to use it. And the taxman gives them certain rights on how they can use it. The pols and lawyers changed this country long ago. Don't believe me? Try not paying that property tax and see how fast that it will be taken and sold on the courthouse steps. Just so the taxman will get that tax due

Seems like this is two conversations in the same thread, so I'll comment on both:

All governments suck, just leave me the hell alone.

307 is a decent little engine. I had a 307, 2Bbl, 3-speed manual '69 Camaro in the early 80's. It could out-run some 350 autos in heavier cars.

My 69 C10 had a stock 307 with a TH350 when I bought it used 35 years ago. It was really a slug. Felt like there was an anchor dragging at highway speeds.

First thing I did was add dual exhausts and generic turbo mufflers. They were only 2" pipes, but helped significantly compared to the single pipe and stock muffler. Literally got rid of the anchor dragging feeling.

Later on I added a used Q-jet manifold and a NOS Holley Economizer 450cfm Q-jet replacement carb. The combo of dual exhaust and a small 4bbl carb made the truck feel like it had at least 25% more power than when I bought it.

So, a 307 can be made to run pretty well. They get a bad rap because they were available only with 2 bbl carbs and single exhaust. I always wondered how that thing would have run with better heads, a mild cam upgrade, and headers. I mean, a stroked 283 has to be a good thing, right?

Had 283, & 307, (1970 Nova, my fav car) High winders. 307 was stock, but hauled ass with a stock two barrel, 110 mph in no time. Watched the tach on mine, (referring to my 283, and friends 327), and a few others hit ten grand, (had forged crank and good Brooks alum rods) very cool sound, not much torque though. Like my BBC. Still have a 283 block, they have very thick cyl walls, and many are high nickel.
