Howdy, I saw this in an ad for an 85 Suburban, never seen a front seat like that. Is that a stock option? If so, what is it called, and what years and what other models was it offered? I'd love to find one for my 87 just to have that extra seat available. Thanks,

I may be mistaken, but I suspect that is an aftermarket seat or a swap from another vehicle.

Definitely an aftermarket seat. Maybe from an outfit like Western Comfort or something like that. I think that's a name I remember from the 90's.

Well rats, the upholstery looked like a factory match, so I was hopeful. If anybody finds one, I'd love to have it. Too bad this one is in Ca. I guess I'll keep looking, thanks.

Reminds me of ford seats. The f trucks have that bucket seats with folding center seat/console. But could also be after market.

Dude! You left out the best part of the story!! The guy wants $16K for his truck, he's "pretty firm on the price," because the body is "near perfect" and apparently, he knows what he's got.

A friend had a seat like that in his furd Expedition, until he got t-boned. Trashed the front end, ins totaled the vehicle and he never took the seats out. They were both power, heated AND cooled! Bitch!

Sharp eye Skysurfer! That's the one. Love the prison guard rear windows!!!
:)

So next question, i know we've all probably seen inside newer minivans these days, they all have the little narrow middle seat that's removable. Anybody fit one of those between 2 buckets? I'm sure one would fit, just figured if anybody had already got one to work it might save me some trouble trying to find which model is best. That seems like it wouldn't be too hard to find in a junkyard these days. I might check into the Expy seats as well since it apparently won't be a stock seat.

If that POS is worth $16k then everything I own just tripled in value.

The GMT800 trucks and equivalent SUV's had front bench seats that were the 40/20/40 design. I've always thought that the narrow center part of the seat would be very easy to adapt to fit between buckets of our older rigs. The base model trucks with rubber floors got a center seat that the back is stationary, but the LS level trucks got a folding seat with a storage compartment in the back rest.
