Got some cab corner 6x9 plates. I started to use the template that came with the speakers but the spacer was a better tool.

Used small magnets to hold it so i could flip it over and center it better. Easier than tape.

Wet sanded with 1000 grit then buffed with compound that remove 1000 grit scratches. Came out pretty good and shiny.

Wet sanded with 1000 grit on the 82 too after bondo and primer in a couple of Spots on the hood. Now nice and smooth. Looks great when wet. Lol

Finally got the stereo in the blue truck this weekend. Got the best 3.5” speakers I could stuff in the dash, lol, some kicker 4x10s all factory looking with hidden sub and amp under the seat.
Got a Bluetooth mic and sub controller mounted by the steering column and it makes the Flowmaster 40s completely irrelevant at 50% volume from the drivers seat!
This is my boys truck for those that don’t know. He’s 18. He Finally had some time so he got it going this last week. He got the seat out and ran a bunch of the wires. I helped him get it all wired up and tuned.

Where does Penetrol fit in, I heard of people using Penetrol before I heard of all the specially made Patina products.
Using Penetrol off lable, not following the instructions for it's use as a paint additive, but applying with a brush or sponge directly out of the can.

I've been a way from here for a while! Been having too much fun I guess! Got to have another fun weekend with the truck this past weekend! I was asked last week if I'd like to be on a newer Podcast called "Peace And Grease" with my dually, so I said heck yeah! This took place this past Saturday at 8am. A few more details in my build thread below ;)

When the video is complete I will get it posted up in my build thread and here for the heck of it! Can't wait, it should be a cool one.

Here is Flannel Philip (the guy that does the interview) talking a bit about the Podcast, and you'll see a few clips of my dually in this, it was a great time! The other guys in the video I also know and am friends with. Fun stuff!

Here is their YouTube channel! Very cool guys (Nick Sinclair & Flannel Philip)--so like & Subscribe to help them out!

Never heard of penetrol until just now,so IDK where it fits in. But @Redbeard truck is sweet, and he gave us his formula I believe it is mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil.

Never used it myself, but was looking at a lot of patina preservation videos, when I was trying to figure out my finish, and this was in a few of them. It's a more of a permanent preserver like Poppy's from what I was getting from all of them that used it. The boiled linseed and mineral spirits is a more of a semi-permanent solution like the shine juice. Those last two will fade over time and need to be applied again to bring back that shine unlike the Penetrol and Poppy's from what I've seen and understood from my research.

Final coat of paint and ready to go on- but the screws I had were too short, so I decided to wait for the valve cover studs to be delivered. Still using the steel core FelPro gaskets and love them.

I learned about Penetrol from a childhood friends father who refinished antique wooden furniture. He could lay down a slick hand painted coat of paint and there wouldn’t be a single brush stroke.
I used it in the frame paint on my truck.

Clean truck! Not goobered up after the years and bad or worn re-paints. Not much paint removal involved there if you’re gonna paint it.
