Well, I haven't been able to do much the past few months. I started on my 63 Ford back in January and am just now getting the trunk cylinder & trim placed back. It has been on my lift these past few months because I've not had time to mess with extracurricular stuff. Now, w

Scored a replacement hood for the dually. Straight and factory orange to match! 150. Need to clean and polish. Will probably paint the underside and install the reinforcement strips before getting it on the truck.

Nice score!
The truck it came from has sat in the brush for 25 years. The hood was the only straight part on it! For the price I couldn't go wrong. Cheaper than getting mine body worked and painted, and since the rest of the truck is original paint from '76, I couldn't go wrong

Where does Penetrol fit in, I heard of people using Penetrol before I heard of all the specially made Patina products.
Using Penetrol off lable, not following the instructions for it's use as a paint additive, but applying with a brush or sponge directly out of the can.

There's a fella on YouTube that has some videos of applying the Penetrol. Seems like it's good at preserving an existing worn finish and it seems to hold up well. What The Rust? Is the channel name.

Feel like a real win when something like that works out!

Finally got the stereo in the blue truck this weekend. Got the best 3.5” speakers I could stuff in the dash, lol, some kicker 4x10s all factory looking with hidden sub and amp under the seat.
Got a Bluetooth mic and sub controller mounted by the steering column and it makes the Flowmaster 40s completely irrelevant at 50% volume from the drivers seat!
This is my boys truck for those that don’t know. He’s 18. He Finally had some time so he got it going this last week. He got the seat out and ran a bunch of the wires. I helped him get it all wired up and tuned.

Those are the old rear speakers, looked new but both started smelling like burnt voice coils and 1 woofer left the chat about 2 min into tuning, lol. Got new ones tonight and buttoned everything back up.
I’m surprised how loud 3.5s and 4x10s are with some clean power to them!
The amp isn’t even working hard so it’s cool and clean.
I was a little skeptical that 2 pairs of small odd size speakers would work this well but they do. The sub helps though cause I don’t need a lot of bass out of them little speakers. If not for the cut up dash and the single din head unit, everything else is hidden or looks stock.

I cleaned the junk and a 1/4 yard of gravel out of the bed of my truck that has been sitting for the longest time.
That way the boy and his girlfriend could go on a 500 mile drive to pick up some new to us toys.
The truck was no issue at all after sitting so long.

From our house to Yakima WA then to Pasco for the Suzuki and then back home.
It was a long day for them, but they had fun.
The big block used plenty of fuel and the bed had room for all 4 bikes.

There is a 1986 Honda TRX 125 in the front.
1985 and 1979 Honda 110 ATC's.
And finally the 1985 Suzuki LT 125 that turns out to have the 185 engine on it.
We have had 3 of them all bark off and one is seized.
The Honda TRX is almost fully functional now after a handful of cash for small parts.

Been working away wire cup wheeling the frame, disassembly of front steering, suspension and prepping frame for some industrial rustoleum semi gloss, during the week putting the top end of a Liebherr Straight six and hanging out with the family on the back patio.

Lol, imagine that. Technology that worked well in 1979 still works good now. Who'd a thunk it.
