I cleaned the junk and a 1/4 yard of gravel out of the bed of my truck that has been sitting for the longest time.
That way the boy and his girlfriend could go on a 500 mile drive to pick up some new to us toys.
The truck was no issue at all after sitting so long.

From our house to Yakima WA then to Pasco for the Suzuki and then back home.
It was a long day for them, but they had fun.
The big block used plenty of fuel and the bed had room for all 4 bikes.

There is a 1986 Honda TRX 125 in the front.
1985 and 1979 Honda 110 ATC's.
And finally the 1985 Suzuki LT 125 that turns out to have the 185 engine on it.
We have had 3 of them all bark off and one is seized.
The Honda TRX is almost fully functional now after a handful of cash for small parts.

That really takes me back to the good olds days. My first quad was and 80's 230 Quad Sport. Loved that thing.

I've seen ones with black dye but that's it. I used the bulls garage on my camaro engine bay plastic too and it's held up well.

Not wanting to wrassle pulling connectors for replacement, but it may come to that. Probably collateral damage from the seam leak at the top of the A pillar. Some day I'll show that circus mess. Probably should pull the fuse box out and inspect that too. Stay tuned...
Well, as I expected, this turned into a cluster fornication. With 46 year old wire being all stiff and such, as well as trying to wiggle my ample self in there without pulling the bench seat out, I decided it wasn't going to be a "quickie". So reassembled back to limp mode so I can finish the carport project, then it gets both spots for various stages of disassembly out of the majority of sun and rain. I was deluding myself thinking it would be an afternoon or two to sort out. Didn't want to jump right into a Painless kit, but it's looking like it will be the best use of time and resources. Damned amateurs really made it a pain in ones posterior.

Just need to get carport sorted out first. The punchlist got a bit longer....

Some days I just sit here and look at it.

Me too. I have been known to sit in the cab with an adult smoke and contemplate ones navel too. However, been sitting on this project of mine for purt near four years now, getting through chronic health problems, deaths in the family, income disruptions and everything else life is famous for. I just want to prove its worth doing everything it will need to be trustworthy.

I know that post had a distinct whine to it towards the end, but unless mama's happy, no one is. You married guys know what im saying. So, I need to demonstrate to my bride (congress) the value of pulling a few grand outta savings to make it happen. Just going on Rock Auto prices, before shipping, it's around a grand just to put the brakes up to snuff not including any steel line eff ups. She's looking at her hardbody (no, not me lol) and wants to know when it gets more love, so it's a multi level sell. Got her a transmission and now she wants new springs and an engine freshening.

I'm not eternal here, and I would like to get Pearl running reliably before I go to meet Jesus. He may have other plans. ;)

I trimmed a little more and was able to get things to fit.

With that I was able to get the MSD distributor stabbed back in and everything hooked back up. It runs again. Now I need to get to work on rebuilding the original Q-jet, this one on it is an extra I have that never really seems to work quite right.

Removed the starter, shorten the filler hoses going into the gas tanks for flow, found and eliminated a 5 yr old rattle, greased the ujoints and tailgate latches, replaced the battery, and installed dash cam and phone charger holder. Getting ready to cruise.

Ordered replacement AC hardware and compressor and high mount for it.

Received dual dash cam and metal window latch.

Will pick up modified bumper w/corner steps Monday. Fingers crossed. Have a bad feeling it's gonna look like crap, but functional lol.

Of course. I'm going to give it some baking soda paste then a brass brush treatment to clean as best as possible. Rinse and blow out with compressor. Cross digits and hope it's better than mechanic in a can.

Hahaha right?
Ya, I mean I could roll either square at 80mph down the road with ease. But much past 70 they’re both yelling at you! Lol.
Maybe quieter mufflers would help… and OD.
1973 my mom got a ticket 85 in a 70 just cruising home with 3 kids 442 455 4speed 3.36 gears. I was talking to dad about it the other day because this topic comes up so often on here, I just remembered the ticket not the speed. Those old non O.D. American Iron has just gotten under rated. IDK. we all rode around, drove around in 4 speed or 3 speed auto junk and no one was afraid to drive it at 90 all day.

Yep. I just ran all of power tour again in my wagon. 350/350 and iirc, 3.08 gear. On the highway, I definitely was not holding anyone up lol. That was with the wife, our 2-year old and our 3-month old twins. And all the luggage associated with picknicing and traveling with three little ones. 75mph was just like a walk in the park.

On Road Worthy Rescues, Derick put on yellow headlights on a clapped out rescue and they looked awesome.
And it got me a wonder'in, what would my pickup look like with yellow headlights.
Today I was messin with the photo editor and it has a highlighter pen option.
See where I'm goin' with this?

How freaking kewl!
Headlights ordered...
And here they are for real.
No CGI here.

What better way to say "That's sick" than with Jaundice eyes?

Sometimes I crack myself up...
