I had to swap out the tailhousing in order to make the shifter work, but it's all good now.

I’m new to the group. Doing a complete rebuild on 87 V10. I am the original owner. As the build goes on I’m probably gonna be asking for a lot of help.

Took a 2 hour detour on the way home from the Squarebody Farm meet and picked these up for $75. They have some rot but the main door is a lot better than mine, and it has a good emblem. I'll be swapping the door out at lunch today. The door has all the lock hardware also so I can actually lock my cargo doors now.

It's perfect that they are the same color too! :D

I wish mine still had it's Trailering Special emblem. Hell, I wish it still had any of the emblems. The last bozo took them all off, lol.

Kind of on the same path - I wish mine WAS a Trailering Special. My original one ( 77 ) was.

Did those get engine oil coolers as part of the package ?

Mine has the same 13k package, it doesn't have an oil cooler. It doesn't look like it ever had one either.

installed the Tow button on the LS swap Saturday night. Well in the process I knocked the positive going to the radio out of the fuse box (rednecked with wire doubled up on fuse....then insert lol).

Anyway, got up the next morning and while getting ready had the radio going (not knowing about the wire mentioned above yet). Needless to say I had Third Eye Blind Jumper song stuck in my head until I got to work this morning and turned on the radio at work. I did hear a few things on the truck I need to take care of.....funny the stuff you don't hear with the radio going.

....and the Tow button don't friggin' work!!!!

boy do i love getting parts. feels just like Christmas! Got a new rad, new ac condensor and the hard to find tailgate access panel, straight from Arizona! I've also just finished cleaning up and painting my rad support. everything is falling back into place, now just waiting for the new rad support mounts.

Quick drivers side and drum inspection after my rust clean up experiment.

The wet is brake clean.

A little groove in the center of the drum - meh, will help shed water.

:p

Nice pattern. When he called he asked me if that was 4.11 gears? I said no 3.73. He said it woke that truck up! He said that thing gets it! Hell yeah that's what I was looking for. It gets inspection tomorrow, then I'll pick him up. Can't wait!

Rough stuff. Safety inspection- 7 bux.

Had to show the inspector how to turn off the wipers since the new(er) LMC wiper switch sticks when you go to the far left for wipe.

Should have changed that back to the old one when I had the bezel loose - forgot.

Adjusted the driver's side squirt nozzle and topped off the washer fluid and engine oil.

Like I said- rough stuff.

TX requires yearly inspections. Unless registered as an antique IIRC in which case it's once every 5 years but mileage is limited 2K a year.

Screw that - I drive the old gal. Probably way more than I intended- she is almost a daily.:)

But, yeah - she's officially safe for another year .
