Yeah, I know.....just not much to see here. The blues still need to be connected to the crossover. The din wire should be here tomorrow to connect the right amp to the crossover, along with the RCA cable to extend the crossover to the stereo.

Then I can get the wires tucked away. The wiring under the dash directly above the front of the console will be done. I’m not setting the console in until this is done. Too old and not as spry as I once was to work around it. Every time I go in to work, come mess the passenger seat.

Shifter wired, just need ends on wires.

Neutral safety switch, backup lights, trans brake, and shifter light wires ran under and thru carpet.

Nice gmc back there and another square hidin

If y’all watch United by Trucks on YouTube, those are his. The green GMC has an LS, the white square is a 6/3OTT that hasn’t been touched yet, and this is the K5 they slammed together for LST this year

Thanks. I’m semi pleased with it. I know where the flaws are:rolleyes:. Kinda out of my skill set on this. Counting on the shifter drawing the eye away from them.

I know exactly what you mean! :waytogo: still getting kudos from me as a fellow DIYer who rarely produces perfection but can say that it built with his own two hands :)

Did you research the kyb's ? Just wondering, I heard good things about them, and need to get new shocks too. I know that some trucks in the generation following the squares had Bilstein from the factory and have been considering those as well

I put KYB's on my '73 Firebird and it hugs the road, my '88 Fiero does the same and I've had them for many years and been very happy with the handling and response on both. I hope to say the same about the ones on my truck now. It certainly does handle and ride better.

How did it get into the woods like that? Did you drive it there and it flip? Doesn't look like it flipped down a bank to that spot?

I locked up the brakes last winter, on a turn, and went straight into the ravine. It rolled after wedging up against a tree.

Amazingly the accident itself didn't really cause much damage to the truck, but the removal definitely did.

I remember the wrecker driver saying "I just heard that somebody got their truck stuck in a ditch, not 30ft into a ******* ravine."

I downplayed the accident for the last year (saying I was not going very fast), but I probably did catch some air.

Did plugs and cap/rotor last night. Between that and the new carb, this thing purrs like a kitten now. The old carb was leaned wayyy out and the plugs were toast.

Then this morning, it died after running about 5 minutes [emoji2357] Fuel pump seized. Luckily, in the downward position so it didn’t hurt the pushrod or cam. Got rid of the AIR pump while I was there too

is that just the truck and you , or whathave ya got in back ?

Would not think a 1/2 to would weigh 5300 lbs.

Makes me wonder what Goldie weighs.

Nice looking square but, I don't know how I feel about the spare mounted on the tail gate like that.

Swapped out the Quadrabog for a nice, slightly used but rebuilt QuadraJet and got rid of a bunch of the unnecessary vacuum BS and electrical that’s no longer used. Drives 10375729 times better now.

It’ll get spark plugs and a rotor/cap tonight. Hoping that fixes the skip it’s got

Shoulda put on a Holley, it woulda ran 18436572 times better! :dogpile:

Replaced the thermostat in the 'burb today. The old one was stuck open. Got an oil change lined up for when we get a hint of sun.

I don’t remember if he added that or it came that way. It was an 86 4x4 that they swapped onto a 2wd frame. He wanted to be different, I actually dig it. Especially with the top on, it looks cool

For $100 and it bolted right up, nah lol. Plus my dads a Qjet guru that worked on them when they were new. Only took about an hour of getting rid of the ESC, useless vacuum lines and tuning to get her running perfect
