Yesterday, sprayed it off and drove it. Needs to be emissions-tested this year, so time to run it and clear it out. Right now it has a full tank and the gas is old, but I am not going to drain it and fill it with fresh. Add a strong concentration of cleaner to the tank, run it down to about half, then top it off with fresh. Been considering trying five or ten gallons of 100LL since it doesn't have a cat on it. Not for the smog test, but for the fun of running 100LL in it.

Where are you finding 100LL? My British project car owers manual calls for "98 or higher leaded" in the owners manual....

That 98 or higher isn’t in RON rather than octane is it?

Got a small plane airfield near ya?
Sometimes they allow carry out for blue AV gas which is usually 100LL and no road tax applied either.

Was going to try at the municipal airport. They may not sell it to me, but it's worth a try. Haven't ran 100LL in a 350 since 1998-1999. I did a lot of highway driving back then, and 5 gallons 100LL with 15 of 91 octane really got the engine running NICE! Even the lawnmower and weed whacker ran really well on the 100LL. For the small engines, I saved the test fuel in a mason jar instead of dumping it. I had to test the fuel daily back then, so 100LL was easy to get at the airport I worked at. Now it may be unavailable here, but I also haven't tried yet.

Back in the day I'd mix it 50/50 at a cost of $2.70 a gallon with 88 octane regular to get 94 octane, my 355ci in my '73 Z28 ran quite well with it.

Got the transmission cross-member out of the 73 Jimmy. Got the upper brackets out (Finally) Pressure washed the pieces. I figured the big a$$ bend in it wasn't supposed to be there. So a bit of time with the 20 ton press flattened it back out. Started sandblasting the upper brackets. Going to wire wheel the cross-member and paint them with Cassie and Roll bar paint. The pressure washer worked great with the water running before I started it.
Great....now I want a press.

The one piece of equipment I didn't think I'd use much... was I wrong. It's a Hobo freight 20 ton press with a bunch of upgrades. It has paid for it's self 10 fold.

Pneumatic Jake, better press plates, put the deck on a roller system, put it on wheels to make it mobile. Put side bars on the deck to stop the side to side movement. Welded big washers on the deck hight bars. Welded angle iron at the bottom for storage of my press break. Put the deck on a pulley to raise and lower it. Stuff like that
