Anybody bebuid the tilt steering columns in these trucks or replaced parts?

My issue is a side to side looseness. The actual tilt joint is fine, no play. The whole actual column is moving side to side about an inch at the wheel, but up and down it is solid. I guess I should look where the column bolts to the dash???? Or where it meets the firewall? They play is somewhere under the dash, not at the tilt joint.

A place to start is under the dash, but I'm willing to bet the bolts inside the column are loose like most every other GM tilt.

Not really, as yours has the multifunction turn signal stalk.

I'll take a closer look at mine and make sure it isn;t any mounting bolts on the outside of the column. At least I got an idea now what else could be wrong on the inside. :handshake:

Need to quit using the steering wheel yo get in the truck. My dads 82 did the same thing it was the bolts behind the steering wheel.
