Replaced my intake gaskets last night let them set but now when I go to crank the engine over it cranks and kicks back like it's trying to run in reverse rotation
Never had this problem before and it didn't do it before I replaced them and I haven't taken off the starter
It's a 350 with carb

So this means you had the distributor our right? You've got the ignition timing wrong. Any backfiring at all out of the intake or exhaust? This will help determine if you have it to far advanced or to far retarded. And you're positive, you've got the firing order correct on your wires right? 18536572.

Rotate the dizzy until you find a place it will start. Then set timing.

Oh, it's likely not a starter problem. It's the 'ol saying, "where'd you fock with it last?"

I agree. It's not the starter. You've got the motor out of time from pulling the dizzy when you installed the new intake gaskets. If you're setting the plug to fire right at TDC, then you need to retard the timing a bit. It should start at about 6-8 degree before TDC. Of course it should actually start at TDC too just not run well. If it's not burping and farting then it's not 180 degrees out of time either.

I've seen them burp and fart when they are 180 out. Just depends on the specific motor I guess.

That's what I'm saying, IF IT WAS burping and farting, then it's 180 out. That's why I asked if he had any backfires. Just making sure he's not 180 out, and he obviously isn't. It'll burp and fart like hell at 180 out. That's the first clue when you're 180 out. Backfiring at both ends.

So finally got it to start for a few seconds
Backfired like a 12 gauge
Wasn't looking for which end it came from
So it's at cyl1 6° btdc timed to #1 on distributor cap and rechecked and reran the wires starting from front right as 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Carbs butterfly's are open
No air cleaner and getting fuel

did you have to play with the dizzy to get it to start?

Oh you'd know which end it came from. If you were under the hood and it came from the intake, you'd have thought it was doomsday or a nuke went off. If that didn't happen, then it came from the exhaust. So it's sounding like your timing is retarded. The timing is late so it's chasing the fuel down the tailpipe when the valve opens and that's how you get the cannon out the tailpipe. Gas/Air has already come and gone into the cylinder and on it's way out the exhaust when it get's ignited. If it's getting backfires in the carb, then the timing is to far advanced. The spark is igniting Gas/Air in the intake before it even got into the combustion chamber which means it's firing to early and timing is advanced. Sounds to me you either have the wrong timing tab, or your balancer has slipped the Zero mark. And yes just ask me, can that happen? Sure can, I had to replace the balancer on my 454 and it was whole 1/3 of a turn off.

Don't bother trying to line it up, it is not working for you. Rotate it until it starts.
