Relay block to the right of steering column?
whats it used for

That's it!? You have GOT to be kidding us. Okay. You've got an '86 C10 w/a 350.
That's all.
Are you certain it's a relay block?
How about some pix? They may all be squarebodies but all are not the same.
We could use some more info to help answer your question.

That’s what they called the “Convenience Center.” It’s got the hazard flasher relay (stainless), horn relay (white), and door/seatbelt/headlight warning buzzer or chime module (blue). There are other colors of buzzers and chimes, though. That one’s out of a C4 Corvette, I’ve seen white ones, and my car’s buzzer is black. It really is convenient having some of that easily accessible instead of having to make your arm into a crane and your hand into a claw. Here’s my Jimmy’s.

I wouldn’t. Your cigarette lighter is on the “GAGE-IDLE” circuit, I believe, and your interior lights should plug into a 12V bulkhead that’s fused on “HORN-DM” circuit, but I’ve not fiddled with the interior lights on a square (yet) so I’m not a 100% on that plug-in location. Someone else who has might chime in.

Yeah, you’re right. I actually don’t know what the black thing is to the right of the block.

I’ve seen someone refer to it as a DRAC module. If that’s what it is, it answers some questions for me. @4WDKC?

I think the black box is emissions. I followed the wires through the fire wall.
Google the numbers on it to get better info.
