I had planned to put that pan on my Ram, hadn't heard anything of it not fitting. That's interesting
Apparently its a Jeep thing. Why idk but that seems to be the case. I have not found anyone with this issue on a Ram even though they said they have heard of it. Found a few instances of it on non SRT jeeps though.

Their solution now is to remove about 3/16-1/8" from the filter mount points an the pickup on the filter. That will get it away from the linkage an it should work then. I'm not crazy about that so I'm looking at just getting a stock pan to go back on it.

I will say though, I'm impressed with PPEs service on the issue. I bought this pan used, all I bought from them was a $30 filter, an actually got it through Summit. So even though I don't understand why they never tested this, apparently they had several people working to help me solve this an even pulled a similar vehicle in an dropped it's pan to measure clearances to figure out how much lower the filter needed to be. They have also removed the pan from from the SRT listing, but it does still come up under a 5.7l an 3.6l.

Damn man, that's frustrating. But good on PPE for going the extra mile, that's awesome

Forgot to update this, I wasn't super keen on modifying the pan, an neither was the shop. He took some extra time to see what was actually going on an found the filter was hitting the solenoid harness, specifically a clip holding it to the valve body. That pushed it over in the way of the lever or linkage that operated park. Some precise trimming of the clip an a slight adjustment got it to clear so its been good to go since.

I went through all that because I didn't want to do it my driveway. Well about a month an half after I got this, the wife liked it so much (if I left it at home, she was taking it lol) I had to get her one. Its just V6 overland model though. So she came home last Sunday an I went outside an there was puddle under it, which is weird because it has never leaked a drop. Long story short, the trans pan is leaking badly from the gasket :doh2: So I'm getting to do one after all :bawl:

The fluid just got here, an I got it up on the air ready to start on tomorrow. At least its gonna be almost 50 degrees. Here's a "flexed out" pic as I was raising it up lol

Before that while hers has been down she's been in mine all week. It was nasty from all the winter storms but then she also took it out on her friends farm the other evening because "it was cold" an she didn't want to walk.

Needless to say I wasn't very happy. This is a vroom-vroom/Iamspeed jeep, not an offroad one. It took me almost 3 hrs to get all the mud off underneath an in the wheelweels. I didn't get a before picture I was so ticked, I cant stand getting a vehicle muddy...

Here's an after though

Well it tricked me, kinda. I had cleaned it up good the other day, let it warm up an then took it for a drive. Oil was pouring off the pass side of the pan.

Got the pan off today an was expecting a missing or torn part of the gasket. Nope it was a little hard but still flexible. Go through the fill procedure, get it down a drive it about 15 mins to get the trans above 160. Pull back in, slide under it an its covered again. What the heck man?

It was engine oil, from the stupid plastic filter housing, oh ya its under the intake manifold :banghead:

So there goes another $340. I got it apart an called it a day. More clean up an then put it back together tomorrow. :bawl:

The filter housing is a known 3.6l issue an it has just under 99k miles so I wanted to do a trans filter anyhow just not both at the same time....

Before I came around, the GF had a ram with the 3.6 in it. She was telling me about the oil filter housing being plastic and breaking in the middle of an oil change at one shop and having to have it towed to the dealer cuz they couldn't get the part. I had to look it up, who the hell thought a plastic oil filter housing was a good idea???

Well another possible quick end here. I think I blew the engine in the Iamspeed jeep last night getting on the highway. Going to investigate deeper tomorrw but all signs point to a blown ring land or several :doh2:

Hmm. That's unfortunate.

What year is this rig again? This example has the potential to stir up some trouble in that new vehicle vs old vehicle thread we've currently got going, lol.

The jeep is a 2017. It's 100% the fault of the blower/tune/fuel an nothing to do with the reliability of it. 11:1 compression, thin pistons, boost and detonation dont play nice together.

I knew it was a time bomb, I was betting it had more time lol.
