He can weld damn good, I don't think he does as much aluminum as he does steel
He has a tig welder but I think it wasn't working for him so he had to use a stick welder I believe

I think that looks good for using a stick! should work fine.

My apologies. The reason why welding cast aluminum usually fails is because the action of welding will draw in dirt and contamination from the pitted surface of the cast material surrounding the weld site.

I guess there is a simple way around this problem.

You simply need to get rid of the pitted cast surface surrounding the weld site and be meticulous in ensuring that no contamination is entering the welds.

And yes TIG Rod technique is actually one of the better ways to weld aluminum.

Looking at that pic it looks like all the welds are full of contamination. So it will have to be redone or keep an eye out for another case. :sorry:

Can't get a full overhaul kit, it's discontinued, anyone know where to look for one?

Input shaft bearing, the only one that's bad, is it common for these to go out?
Cuz the other case I bought it was out as well

Randy's Ring & Pinion / The Gear Center will sell you a good quality full rebuild kit for a $100 or so. Ours is the 208C.

The 208c 208f 208d 208j kits have all the same parts it looks like though, power train warehouse has a rebuild kit for 87$ I believe
